when u say broken 360, do u mean cracked or its just internal?

and does it come with the controller and everything u need?

The story on the 360 is that it got the 3 red lights (the internal problem one) so I called Microsoft up. I got the system in July or so and while talking to them they told me it wasn't under warranty anymore and that it would cost me $160 to have it fixed. So I declined.

The next couple of days I did some research on the problem and possible fixes. So I went on and opened up my 360. I tried the "hot air gun" fix and put some new thermal paste on. To my suprise the system worked fine. I played for about 1 hour a day for a few days or so and then it died again with the same red lights.

Then Microsoft changed their policy to 1 year warranty. Of course this was all done AFTER I opened my system. I stilled called them though and tried to plea with them (including a supervisor) but they of course will not fix a 360 that has been "tampered" with. So it's just sitting in my house cause I don't want to touch it anymore.

The broken 360 will come with basic cables but will not include a controller. You can try your luck fixing it (which you won't need a controller for) and if you get it to work, buy a controller.

I'd enter, but my story sounds too depressing to be true.

Well, at least the 360 MIGHT make for a good doorstop, but still wouldn't hold a candle to the Nintendo 64 (Which everyone and their mother owned) or the XBox (Which is a giant bludgeon of butt-rockin' death!)

What happened to the controller?

And does it come with a hard drive?

There's a reason why it's kind of the loser prize but has potential to be worth something.

I'm rebuying a 360 core system and using my HDD. So basically you will just get a broken core system (with core box) that just doesn't have a controller cause I'm keeping it. At least the generic 360 controllers are cheap. :P

cant u lie and be like...i never opened it..i swear

Nah, they have a few "booby traps" where I wasn't sneaky enough to make it look like it was never opened so once/if they go in they would notice unless you were somehow slick enough. I've heard of people not telling them it's tampered with and getting even more of the shaft afterwards when they deny to fix it and have it.

Anyway, the more entries the better. Even then you can't find much better odds.

We do, however, run contests occasionally. We'll normally have somewhere in the range of 1-3 a year or so depending. Usually a cool prize or 2 mixed in with some average stuff but it's all about trying to get the word out a little more.

btw, I just finally got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed today (procrastination for years) so I'm a little out of it at the moment.
