Says the chinese employee Kris. As we both stare out the front door of the Staples and look into whiteout and the 2 foot pile in front of the door. After the store closed and everyone runs the gauntlet toward their vehicles (reminiscent of the scene where Dennis Quaid is cross country skiing in Day after tomorrow) An overall 2 feet of snow and 60-70km winds are blowing snow.
To state it quickly its retarded I'll post pics later, its like New Orleans but only Indians died.

WELCOME TO BEAUTIFUL CANADA!
This is what my front yard looks like as of 6:40 this evening. Note the tiny mountain of snow in the distance

You can see where the snowblower tore through the drift that made up my front walkway. It was about 2 feet deep there

it's 60 degrees here in the middle of the night. I haven't seen snow in like 7 years.

Snowed last night here. But for my location, 2 inches is enough to close EVERYTHING. It is the end of the world. People don't know how to drive and everyone is spinning out and stuff.

Central Jersey's still been a steady 50 degrees with the occasional 60. There were 2 days where it got below 50 and the water froze but this is unusual right now.

We got about 3 minutes of flurries and it died. I wish I would have taken pictures from this wicked ice storm we had a few weeks ago. I remember walking home and how painful it was because the ice hit my face. It tore the shit out of trees and everything. Like 45,000 people lost power.

Kentucky got one day (and one inch) of snow this whole winter. and two days of mild permafrost. And warm weather up until about 4 days ago. We also got a lotof rain too.

Kinda off topic but the reason those Japanese people are calling it a brizzard is because the L and the R in Japanese sound the same. Thank you encyclpedia.

that's why when people are mocking chinese people they always exaggerate that.

Actually, the reason is more psychological than that. Your ability to discern letters sounds is dependent on your linguistic internalization, thus many Asians simply don't have the ear to distinguish between L's and R's just like I believe there are sounds in Russian that most Anglophones can't distinguish.
sadie
Jan 12th, 2007, 03:22 PM
that's right. researchers believe we become lose the ability to distiguish sounds not in our native language by the end of the first year.

I agree.
That's why I disagree with any sort of Western version of a description of the German first person pronoun, Berliner or non. Pretend you're hacking something out of your throat right after getting started saying "eel." That's Ich. Germanic speakers don't even get that... :(

Talk about going off topic.
It's still 56 degrees in central Jersey. Sorry everyone that doesn't live down south. Actually, sorry for you guys too, but that's another issue.

Preechr, the only real variety I've heard with "ich" comes from American students of German (like myself). From Vienna to Berlin all I heard was literally just "ish", but I'm willing to concede that maybe my ear isn't trained for it and I am of impression that the Hamburg area retains the Saxon "ikh" much more. The first time I heard a lecture in German, it was the Archbishop of Hamburg and he definitely used harder ch's than what I was used to, but back then my German skills were even more limited than they are now.

It wasn't really that bad, actually. I mean, it could have been colder. I think winter was just playing catch-up since it's been hovering around 0°C for a couple weeks.
It's a balmy -30°C outside right now.

That also reminded me of that Family guy from when Chris becomes quagmeires "Son" and clevelands son becomes peters "Son"; his boss at the golfing range. "Big deal it's a secret tunnel like in ww2 wanna fight about it?"
