I've done the hot air gun trick and got the broken one working for a good 4 hours or so. More stuff for the person who gets my broken 360 to try out.

engadget later reported that the towel fix works like the hot gun fix where it sticks the 2 parts together to make it work

but it also makes everything else hot which is damaging and they dont recommend it
