I'm leaning strongly towards a few Ibanez models, but I'm still open to any suggestions you might have (whether it's Ibanez or otherwise). So let's hear 'em!

you should either get this guitar (http://www.electricalguitarcompany.com/standard_guitar.html) or this one (http://www.electricalguitarcompany.com/custom_guitar.html) because they're both completely awesome and allllllllluuuuuminum

To save your dough dont buy an Ibanez. My goddamn volume dials are falling off and Ive barely had it for a year. Id say get a fender which is what my dad has and its 15 years old and is in awesome shape. Ive already had to get in my Ibanez and reattach some wires.

I've never heard of that kind of problem with the models I'm looking at. How cheap was your Ibanez guitar?

200 bucks with an amp and headphones. But it was a bass I dont know if that would change anything. I just really dont like Ibanez models.

You gotta spend at least 400-500 bux if you want a decent guitar holmes. In your case, you got what you paid for.

What's yer budget, Rog? I've got a couple of ESPs, and I swear by 'em. This is one of them:
http://www.espguitars.com/images/guitars/h-1001_BLK.jpg
It's neck-through, so the sustain is awesome. It also comes with EMGs (the real ones, not the cheap Hz series). Action is great, and it's a fixed bridge. I'm tired of that Floyd Rose bullshit.
I guess it will probably run you $800-1000, but it's worth every penny.

Ha, $800-$1000 is actually the exact range that I've been looking in. Maaaaybe $1200 if there's something I really really like. For my big birthday, my entire family pitched in to get me a gift certificate to Guitar Center so I could buy a new guitar since I've never purchased a new one since I first started learning to play guitar about 15 years ago on that old Samick fender-knockoff I have. I'll probably spend a little extra of my own cash on top of it so I can get the exact one I want but I'm having trouble narrowing it down.
The Ibanez RGT6EXFX (http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/Ibanez-RGT6EXFX-Electric-Guitar?full_sku=518870%2e001) is one of the ones I've been strongly considering:
http://img3.guitarcenter.com/dbase/pics/products/8/0/3/420803.jpg
It has a fixed bridge too and comes with EMGs, though I'm not sure if there's any difference between them and the ones you're talking about. Maybe you can take a look at it. 24 frets and good action are both "must-have" features for me too.
I can't really try ESP guitars because the only ones GC carries are like 4000-9000 bucks! o.O I used to like Washburn guitars a lot too, but I couldn't even find any on Guitar Center's site so it doesn't look like they carry that brand.
Fenders are cool but everyone has them.
The same could easily be said about Ibanez guitars, heh.

Last time I as at GC, Rog, Schechter had some pretty nice models that were very affordable.
I'd pass on the Ibanez RG series if I were you. I've owned one, and they're OK, but if you've got a decent amount of money to spend, I'd get something better.
Brain Moore guitars are outstanding as well, but they're pretty expensive.

So I played some more guitars today and most of them I didn't like (including all of the Schechter ones I played), but I thought this one was very comfortable and it's within my price range:
Ibanez RGA121

24 jumbo frets, nice 'n thin, Any thoughts on this one? I think I might get it.

Make it black or red or something. But thats my opinion. But it looks sweet as sugar.

I like the look of this 7 strings and the color is cool. ...http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/APEX2GSF.png

Eh, not into the 7-strings thing. I'll leave that shit to Korn and their ilk. ;) I'd rather have a 12-string than a 7-string if I was looking for something outside the norm.

This one's nice:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Showmaster-FMT-HH-Electric-Guitar?sku=511943
It's got a set neck, flamed top, and the price isn't too bad either.
I like to be able to see the wood grain personally.

Yeah I was lookin at that one the other day, doesn't look too shabby, but they didn't have 'em at the store so I'll have to look around 'n see if I can try one out somewhere. Still, I'm leaning pretty strongly to that RGA121 at this point. After playing it and reading up on it some more, it's sounding better 'n better.

If you find a model you like, MAKE SURE to play as many diffirent ones as you can before you actually commit & buy the fucker. This way you won't get stuck with like, a lemon or somthing. Hell, if they're all pretty much identical (idiots didn't make them) you could be super cheap & fish around for the best price.
I've bought guitars just because I was too lazy to play them in the store and I kind of regret it. I had a MIM Jazz and when I bought another one I was amazed because it played like a much more expensive instrument then my first. I usually don't like the music store setting, trying to pick a bass while some moron 2 amps down is doing his best immitation of Flea with the amp cranked up and you're like
"What the HELL people"

Yeah, I always play instruments a lot in stores, I wouldn't ever buy one online. And believe me, I hate playing in stores. I was having a conversation with my friend this morning about EXACTLY what you just described there, Noob3. All I want to do is try out a guitar to see how it feels and sounds, but I've got kids cranking up their amps and playing Nirvana songs (badly) on my left side and some douchebag trying to show off his eddie van halenish tapping skills on my right. I can't even hear the guitar over them unless I too crank up the amp. So normally, I'll just take the electric guitar into the acoustic guitar room and try it out there for a bit and then once the amp-blastershave left the store, I'll try it out on there. Guitar Center really is bad for that shit though... they need to regulate it and give everybody headphones so you don't have to put up with their loudass showboating 'n what not.

I hate the guitar center for the same reason, Rog.
I like Fender guitars. I have a telecaster, and a 72 Tele deluxe reissue...I love them both. I also have an Iceman which plays like a dream and sounds fantastic. I've been playing a few Schecter models at GC and I really like the tempest.
