Isn't nurse with a wound like the "Good music" equivalent of that Gravy Train song and all those other "Sexy" pop music groups? I think I remember listening to it and being like, "Man i hate songs about fucking" and every god damned song on the album was about fucking :(

That might be some concept album I'm not familiar with or whatever but generally Nurse With Wound is artsy fartsy stuff that sounds like nothing in particular. I enjoy some of their more serious albums and what I've read about Thunder Perfect Mind sounds interesting (and the cover art is rad) so I'm giving it a shot.

JUSTICE MIGHT BE THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO 2007 IF SEBASTIAN DOESNT HAVE A BODY-SLAM OF AN ALBUM TO COMPETE.

the entire ed banger label is the most musically exciting thing to happen for me in years. embracing dirty, distorted bass and prime beats and a thoroughly trashy sound that has no reservations about being loud, crude, and blatantly sexual. mr oizo has found his real weird and real true niche in embracing the cheap and ugly with his sparse and unfiltered productions. moustache/half a scissor is an amazing album.

anyway the last album i bought has nothing to do with them because they're all just a collection of eps and compilations so far. but i did get "person pitch" by panda bear. one of the members of animal collective decided to go brian wilson with extra weird thrown in. sounds great.

Fuzzy Felt Folk compilation
"Daisies" film soundtrack on the Finders Keepers label.
2046 film soundtrack.

These CDs all came to my door in one package last, and I'm too lazy to look up the composers for the soundtracks and what have you, but I ordered them at the same time as some other stuff that I'm also too lazy to look up or strain to remember.

Recently I impulse bought a lot of Yo La Tengo, thinking I was missing out on something. Apparently all I'm missing is the point, because I didn't enjoy them anywhere near as much as I've been lead to believe I would.

With the exception of "And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out," which I enjoy as a mood piece that captures a certain feeling I don't get from other albums, I'm dissapointed. "I Am Not Afraid of You..." is fun for the most part too but all the older stuff I find to be fairly generic and bland.

It could be that they reveal their subtle charms with further listening, but this isn't the old days when I could afford one album a month and five mp3s on a dial-up connection; I have things to do and other albums to be listening to. I COULD BE DEAD TOMORROW. Someone explain.
