I hated it. Really, really, really hated it. I hated the pot-bellied mildly retarded child star, I hated the silent kid, I hated the pedo grandfather. Highly over-rated.

Little Miss Sunshine was the first DVD movie I bought since I found Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure in a bargain bin in 2003.

The dead grandpa thing was really dumb, but I liked it a lot, on the whole.

This movie was fantastic. But I have to agree that I didn't like the dead grandpa thing because that's something a faggot like Clark Griswald would do (and he did).

Chevy Chase sucks and so do his fans.

In terms of tone and mood, it was one of the most original films I've seen in a long time. Not so much for plot though. It's a dry version of Vacation, like Gadzooks said.

Wow. I can't believe what I'm reading in this thread. The movie was filled with one dimensional character cards and tired cliches. Not only that, its fucking creepy and sad.

Who the fuck is Tithouse?

Meh, you is all crazy. Sheep, a bunch of sheep I tells ya.

Anyway, I didn't care for the pedophilic undertones. I've worked with far too many kids messed up by that sort of thing.

Okay. Penaud if you were forced to watch Everything is Illuminated, Little Miss Sunshine, or death, which would you pick?
You could go for Everything is Illuminated. It had the dude from Gogol Bordello in it.

I would watch death.
I haven't seen Everything is Illuminated.
I just really don't get the mass appeal of Little Miss.
Regardless, just a single opinion anyway and I'm just surprised the folks on this forum support the general opinion.

Sometimes the general opinion is the right one.

It's a movie, not an ideology, jesus christ.

But if you like, we will all hate this movie if you ask REALLY nicely.

I think we've all been battered by the overused "Homosexual English Scholar who's suicidal pecimism contrasts the obnoxiously optimistic and goal oriented brother in law" Character far too much.

The creepiness of the beauty pagents was completely intentional, because they are freak shows. When you called the girl pot bellied you hit the nail on the head because the whole point was that she was suppose to be the complete antithesis to the typical beauty pageant plastic doll that were in the competition.

I think it's completely respectable to not like this movie, because of the moderately unearned ending and the choppy character development, but it's hard to go along side with not liking it just because it's popular.

I saw the movie and I liked just about everything the grandpa said. When he died I was pretty sad.

But after I finished watching the movie I really couldn't figure out what the point of the story was. If there was some moral or something it totally went over my head. Maybe I'm dumb or maybe the movie sucked. I don't know

Oh yeah, Buns and Ammo was funny.

Saw this movie last night. Damn hilarious. I'm still laughing today about the porno mag and the cop part when kinnear was pissed off at carroll about the guy nudie mag. Also kinnear said something along the line of, "Let me regain my conscious first."

Overall, def a fun movie.
