Fuck Nintendo and their innovation. I haven't seen a single game that I would have enjoyed past five minutes except for maybe Metroid Prime: Hunters.

Like what? Cooking Mama, Elite Beat Agents, Trama Center, WarioWare?
I don't give a damn about those mini-game compendiums. I hate them.
Also, I take it back. I also am interested in Phoenix Wright.

Um well both Castlevanias on the DS are awesome. By awesome I mean only a few notches below SOTN.
I'm more pumped about getting SOTN on XBLA than this. My PSP could use some more stuff though.

I don't know what's wrong, then.
Everything's a port or a continuation, except for Phoenix which I do realize is kickass. Maybe I'm just wierd. I'm waiting for a game to come out on the DS that really sucks me in, and it's probably not going to be Pokemon Diamond or Pearl.

i'm a high tier cv nerd an have a duo and a copy of chi no rondo. as castlevanias go its short and easy, but i love the myusik an level designs. its one of them games you can jus pick up a couple times a year to play thru for entertainment an have fun every time. puttin it on psp kinda sux, but theres really not enough game to it on its own for another console release i guess.
saying the game sucked is stupid though. i dont know what anyone could want in a platformer game that it doesnt have, except maybe a few more levels and a bit more challenge
i liked sotn a lot even if it did feel a lil unfinished. the gba cvs all tried to be it an only aos got anywhere close for me. donno about the ds ones cuz i dont have one

I just want a PSP so I can try this out and most importantly, finally get to play Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins. Then I'd sell it.

Konami claims that they can't release it do to the expense of emulating and translating a PC Engine (despite the screaming demands of gamers), and lack of interest, and then they go and release it on a portable system mostly successful and used for playing movies. What the fuck is the matter with Konami? Anyways, they better goddanm well port this for the PS2 or as a Turbo Grafx download (yes, it's technically for the PC Engine). In closing, New Super Mario Bros is overrated and (while decent) pales compared to Super Mario Bros 3 or World.

I actually like the new super mario bros way more than 3. While SMWorld had more content, the new super mario bros just feel so polished and old-skool that I still think it's a better game ;< I played SMWorld about a year ago and it was just a really boring experience ;<

I thought it was just too overhyped and the touchscreen/dualscreen features really weren't that innovative in NSMB. I thought the whole "oldschool" aspect of the game was marred by average level design, and overall, I didnt think it lived up to the early games in terms of gameplay.
Anyways, on topic

Basically what SotN is is a reinvention of Castlevania, instead of going with the same linear action style gameplay they went in more of a Metroid direction. They also added RPG elements, i.e. leveling up and getting progressively more powerful shit. You're this Vampire Hunter Dish dude, Alucard, and you're basically going around Dracula's castle RUINING everyone until you meet him and kill him. There's probably more to it than that, but I've never actually played it so I really don't know.

To add to that bad synopsis, the game starts off with the final showdown between Richter Belmont and Dracula (which occured in the previous game, Rondo of Blood and it's American counterpart, Dracula X). Three years pass and you are in control of Alucard, the son of Dracula, who was awakened from his deep sleep after the premature ressurection of Dracula and his castle, to put a stop to it. You eventually will meet up with Maria, Richter's sister-in-law, eventually, who has been searching for him since his disappearance following the reemergence of the castle. Basically, what was said Metroid-style level description and RPG/experience system is accurate. What also made the game different from the others in the series was that Alucard's arsenal included mostly swords (no whips), he used magic spells and more advanced shapeshifting, and overall, he was a lot smoother and easier to control than most of the character's from previous games. Now you should go and spend $60 looking for it on Ebay, ZBF.

I take it back. Spectrobes looks like it's shaping up to be a bitchin' game. Looks like Pokemon on acid or something.

As mediocre as he was in Castlevania III, I was so blown away by the fact that you could turn into a bat and fly to safety in the event of being knocked over a platform, I tried to call a friend of mine about it.
