Mock Warrior VS Grislygus

Mock Warrior started this battle poor with what seemed to be a
neverending barrage of random crap. After the 1 1/2 page reign
of terror was over, Grisly retorted with quite the chuckleworthy
comic. Shortly thereafter, Grisly lost some of my interest with
the Maria series of posting, however, the "damn you Fernando"
lines got a smile off my mug. He then kept the ball rolling
with "Your mom was educated. IN SCHOOLS!" Nice work there Gus!
Then Mock warrior decided it was comic time himself and leeched
the art and transformed the text with the magic of photoshop.
Warrior did give me a chortle with "Where did ur arm go bill?"
before Gus changed momentum with the Onion article. Then the 2
did a good job of entertaining me with their photoshopping the
avatars with hearts. Good work on both men! Next we get to read
some fairly unentertaining stuff from both competitors before
my next smile was landed by Gus' "Oh, man, you've got me on that
one- SAAAAAY, wait a minute" post. I then thumbed through what
I would call the lull of the conflict before seeing the History
Channel mock. This was fairly mediocre with a saving grace
ending consisting of "And with the Mockwarrior increasing the
scale of conflict by including mothers and carpets, a critical
engagement loomed on the horizon." Then we had some dead Jews.
....onward and upward. At this point, the match starts to wind
down with a few jpg posts from Mock Warrior depicting a zany
pirate version of Gus murdering passersby. At the end, Gus
fails to respond to a "blah" ending from the Warrior. Nice
effort on both parts, but Gus was just % wise more funny in the
number of times he posted.


Esuohlim VS Lenor
Winner: Esuohlim
Opening the match with a "oh god, here comes Lenor" post was a
very sadened Milhouse. You can already see the mood of this
battle creeping up. Lenor is quick to fire back with a VERY
bad sex joke. Milhouse seems eager to verbally insult Lenor
with a flashback post to various quotes once typed by her in
threads many moons ago. This was ended by an amusing will jpg
offering the I-Mockery forum goers nothing if Milhouse were to
suddenly fall ill and die. In retort, Lenor starts her long
string of "boy, aren't I a sexy lady person" posts which will
soon smack me in the face...metaphorically. After a bit of
playful bantering, Lenor uses the 'ol list tactic to bring down
Milhouse out of his shattered universe. The universe remained
intact after the photoshop horoscope though, I might say. T'was
a romping good come back from Mr Kinnear! Next we're all victim
to a series of AIM logs posted by Lenor in an attempt to sway
the match's momentum in her direction. Though it was quite a
nice try, I feel that Milhouse "kept it real" during the battle.
Many points awarded for effort to Lenor, but she just wasn't good
enough to keep Esuohlim from moving to the next round....IMHO.

Here we see the first post points awarded to Rongi for steppin'
"to it" right off the bat. I wasn't particularly impressed with
his list of daniel facts, but luckily, this isn't Rongi's high
point. After many one sided remarks from Rongi, Daniel finally
shows up in time and slams the Rong-ster with an old image-of-
himself plan. I got my smile when Rongi ignored the post and
kept the "no, you're gay" going. A handful of rebuttles later,
Daniel pulled a fast one with proving the hypocracy of Rongi by
quoting a philosophy forum post by the Rong-ster himself. But
remember Daniel.....2 Rongi's don't make a right. Next...
HAHA. Fat woman ordering off the McDonald's menu..classic. This
post started a snowball of posts from Rongi with such classics as
"or is it grey?", "Did you try calling him gay?", and "Yeah, but
it didn't work." Unfortunatly the thread cuts short at this point
because Rongi is the last to post. I was hoping it would go
somewhere else, but I suppose this'll have to do. In the end,
Daniel didn't post enough to show me he really cared. Sorry Haus.


In my battle's defense, yes, it was short and boring, but I was
really hoping for someone who was gonna care. BUT I promise if
you fuckers vote me through....I have a surprise waiting for you
on the other side. *teehee* Hope the comics were at least fun
to read.

Although Gris made me want to fall over after the article about him waving his gun around and falling off the roof, since thats what our good pal gris does, He ended up not only getting hit by a bus, but then getting slapped by carpet. So, while this was the most amuseing fight ever. The mock Warrior, stole my heart.

On my own fight: I honestly tried, I hope that shows. Milhouse did well also, and most likely was not expecting me to put up anytype of fight, he could of been more prepared and paid more attention. But, It was all alot of fun!

I'm gonna be completely honest here, outside of this round I've never read a single post by lenor. Not because I have anything against her (although from what I hear I probably should) but because there's something about her posts, I don't know if it's the way she formats them or if it's the sheer number of them but her words just seem to go through my eyesockets and then slip and slide right off my brain. Not being well versed in the lore of lenor alot of the jokes during her show stopper just didn't make any sense to me. Why are her walls purple and graffited with the word korn? What's that purple girl suppose to represent? Why does Greg Kinnear have an erection? Ultimately I decided to vote against her in favor of the contestant that had the class to ask her if she had substance and then quote a diarrhea line.

Nate Flax may overuse the term "levity" but he was definitly more interesting than Fartin in this match up.

A minimalist approach doesn't always work, xbx just wasn't around enough for me to even acknowledge him as an opponent adjacent to rongi.

Grislygus vs Mock Warrior

This is a true blue case of that saying different strokes for different folks, I'm seeing alot of people in the commentary thread genuinely finding Grislygus to be very funny while I on the other just don't see it. Sure I can appreciate the effort and more importantly the talent that went into some of Gus's posts but I just didn't find humor in anything he had set up. Mock Warrior on the other hand has made me laugh more times than anyone else in this competition so far. It's a little ridiculous that out of this whole event, this one and Sethomas vs Chojin's are the only matches that I've been able to judge solely on who was funnier and not have to muddle it up with a bunch of bullshit like whether or not a contestant is even going to show up for their next match.

Mock Warrior started off strong and he had some damn funny posts, but he ended up crossing the line from funny into just plain annoying. That, and I find it lame when people throw up something that's supposed to be "shocking" or "offensive" like the dead Jews picture and they call it funny. To me those "shock value" tactics are just a cheap and lazy attempt at humor. Grislygus's sparse attacks (like the comic) were directed well enough that to my mind they cut through Mock Warrior's barrage of nonsense and rendered a lot of the funny posts he had ineffective.

Very dissapointing. I expected Nate Flax to draw Fartin Mowler in all his lawn-mowing glory (in fact that might be the only reason why i voted for him in the qualifiers in the first place). I was hoping Fartin Mowler would do a long script, something with audio (his ScriptWars audio thing he did for radio show Jixby and I did was fantastic) but he was completely disinterested. There were funny moments, sure, but it didn't live up to the potential. I'll give it to Nate because it seems like Mowler is just too busy for this. NEXT TIME DRAW YOUR OPPONENT NATE (especially if it's Rongi :lol)

Grislygus made one good comic, that's it. I don't know what the other people are talking about how he's going to win the whole thing. Sure Mock Warrior came off annoying at points, but now that I know it's not Guitar Woman I can enjoy it. Ugh, and the dead jews, shut up people. I really doubt he was trying to shock us. Give me a break.

-I really don't think Rongi understands what the Mock Wars IS, and I don't think he'd have anything to offer if he moves on. Daniel was pretty good.

Nate Flax vs Fartinmowler
Nate's comics were funny. Fartin seems to take the "Aqua Teen" approach to humor, where anything that makes no sense MUST be funny. But it's not. I would rather see Nate do more comics than see Fartin being Fartin.

Mock Warrior vs Grislygus

-I felt that Mock Warrior chose quanity over quality, filled the thread with tons of shit and trying to see what would stick, which wasn't much at all. Grislygus took his time and made some solid hits that were far more entertaining.

Also, I thought Esuohlim's brief attempt was way too personal. It's not funny to me when you try to dig deep and really attack someone the way he was trying. It's not creative to just make fun of someone for being different than you, and "kill yourself" is the lamest cliche insult ever. I think Lenor has a lot more to offer. :)

The first half of this match was really close, but where did xbxDaniel go for the 2nd half of it? Did he lose interest or somethin? If he had stuck around he would've had a good chance at winning this. Instead, Rongi took over the match completely. "Dan's mother is a 300 pound ex-lion tamer with a bizzarre fetish for sneakers covered in chocolate." Dunno why, but that made me laugh.

Nate's comics were real good, especially the 2nd one about Fartin never hitting the preview button before posting because I've wondered the same thing myself. And then the AIM conversation sealed Fartin's fate. Posting photos of asians with pillow boobs or other things of minimal effort does not win a mock war. Nate wins this one big time.

This is a classic case of "quality vs. quantity". If mock war victories were based solely on the number of posts made, The Mock Warrior would've destroyed Grislygus. Grisly also attacked the Mock Warrior more directly and his attacks seemed more focussed. Good show.

Nate outclassed fartin, and it took a while for fartin to actually show up and do something of substance. The 'will that cost more' line was funny, but it was actually Nate's IM log that won the day, and those are hard to make funny. Grislygus was owning this one hands-down in the first few replies, but got weaker and weaker while the MOCK WARRIOR responded to criticism and upped his game. If Gus had made another killer post or two, I might have been swayed otherwise, but the fight goes to the MOCK WARRIOR in my opinion.

But he should have been around more. This should have been a slaughter and instead, lenor actually kicked him in the pants a little near the end. The horoscope thing was funny! Lenor started out with some internet fight cliches, but again, got better at the end, and 'i already have a girlfriend! she is from the internet and no one understands me like she does! our love is pure!' was funny. I uh, don't know what the hell happened in the last two posts, though.

The detective angle could have been hilarious, instead it just came off as poorly executed and contrived.
