This board needs a Catch-22 thread. >:
Best book ever. >:
Coincidentally, has anyone read the sequel, "Closing Time?" If you haven't, please don't.

you should be willing to pay a fortune to read such a great piece of literature, given your current writing skills, professor.

.
Have you read "Slaughterhouse Five" Les? That's also a great "anti-war" book that contains a lot of irony and dark humor if you like that theme. Kurt Vonnegut and Joseph Heller are contemporaries and actually know each other. If you're interested I found an online discussion/interview of them together. I'll have to see if I can find it again, though.

I don't want my Catch-22 thread to become a Vonnegut thread, but three words: Breakfast of Champions. >:
And Catch-22 is the funniest thing ever created. The scene with Clevinger, Lt. Schiskopf or however you spell it, the bloated colonel with the mustace, the one major, and Poppinjay is the pinnacle of comedy.

Whoops! Didn't mean to "thread drift" it on you OR insult your intelligence (if that was directed towards me) ... just thought that you might be interested ... Besides, how does the reading one infer the reading of the other? ... Think about that before biting someone's head off for suggesting something ... out! :/

Don't act like I've never heard of Slaughterhouse Five, fag, and you won't insult my intelligence.

I didn't ask if you had heard of it ... I asked if you had read it ... big difference. :)

protoclown made me :lol
:) yes ah...joeshpe heller was a good.
Closing Time , i'll agree, was shite but Good as Gold had it's moments.
Catch-22 the movie was pretty accurate, but wasn't as magical as the book. i heart alan arkin.
