Awesome.

All of the contest materials should be here by tuesday and then I plan on doing a quick write-up about the game that will lead into the big contest. Glad there will be a demo I can link to so people can at least try it out.

Thanks for da' link.

BTW, I'm not sure if these will work in the demo, but it's worth a shot if you want to have some extra fun. Remember, you have to type Shift + @ or Shift + ~ first to bring up the console that allows you to type in cheat codes.

Is it another essay? I forgot to enter last time.

Mockery
Apr 12th, 2003, 05:42 PM
No, it'll be an art contest. The essays last time were either just plain pathetic or disturbing or both for the most part. Besides, the art contests are generally a lot more fun for most people and it creates some great content to put up on the site once the contest is over with.

This time I'm going to draw something then scan it onto the computer. My entry for the Hateful Chris contest was terrible compared to the others. I will do much better this time... I hope.

The Demo was pretty fucking cool, but seven minutes is not nearly enough time to enjoy it. The first mission took me two tries before I actually beat it. I ended up setting everyone inside the Lucky Gamesh market on fire while I stole the milk.

Hahaha

I like peeing on people till they throw up.

The_Rorschach
Apr 12th, 2003, 09:20 PM
Holy shit?! You can do that?! I went through with the shotgun, placing it to people craniums and blowing their heads apart, and I got a guy to throw up. I wish I knew all it took was pissing on them.

Thanks Whore!

You know whats sad, I don't think I ever even heard of Postal 1. I like the sequal though

cutting people's heads off with the shovel then kicking the heads around on the street it fun too. I like how people look down at it and see it is a head and run off screaming. Some people even throw up :)

Has anyone run into that sadistic fucker with the machine gun? He sometimes attacks anyone shooting me and when I was kicking a head down the street HE JOINED IN.

Also, I'm still looking for the hunting rifle, grenades and cat nip >:

Is there anywhere else I could download the demo. That fucking site's expecting me to wait 3 hours to play this heap of shit. >:

I'm gonna try Kazaa, but you know how unreliable that is.

Spectre X
Apr 13th, 2003, 01:08 PM
I'm gonna try to download it from Kazaa as well, I'm cheap, plus, this game, is total, ultra-violent, messy, bloody, MAYHEM!!!! :love :evilgrin

James
Apr 13th, 2003, 01:58 PM
You forgot to mention FLAT-OUT BORING!

Christ. It's bad enough I don't have a decent enough video card (for this game, I mean), but then it tries to get me to install some wierd drivers.

Anyway, the game sucks. Oooh, I can hit a cat with a shovel, and pee on people. Big deal. I hate First-Person-Shooters as it is (especially on the PC), but the only thing this game has going for it is the childish amount of violence and toilet humor.

8-year-olds, rejoice. Your perfect game has arrived. Meanwhile, I'll stick to something with a little more substance.

whoreable
Apr 13th, 2003, 02:26 PM
yea cause gta has so much more substance :rolleyes

I just got the full version and its ok. Granted the sensless violence and humor is kinda childish, but this game is kinda fun :/

I am sure I will get tired of it fast but for now it provides some entertainment.

Gary Coleman even makes an appearance.

But goddamnit jamesman you are a fool if you think fps games are better on consoles.

Spectre X
Apr 13th, 2003, 02:34 PM
I'm a child, and childish, and a complete nutbar, so it's the perfect game for me. :)

postal 1 was over head crap where you do the same thing in horrible graphics and it is damn near impossible to win. This game is :)

I hated FPSs before too... then I learned how to play them and stopped sucking. :/

The only FPS on a console I've ever liked is Halo.

James
Apr 13th, 2003, 04:03 PM
I never said I didn't suck. :(

My problem is I feel more in control handling a controller versus a keyboard and mouse. Then again, maybe some games just sucked to begin with, and put me off (Half-Life and Quake 3).

Still, I just didn't see any substance to this game so far. Hitting a cat with a shovel and pissing on it got boring before it even started being interesting. At least GTA had a great story and voice acting. This just falls flat on everything but "senseless crap put in to get a senseless rating."

If you like it, fine. But I just don't see what's so great about punting someone's head down the road.

I cant get it to work...it says my videocard is outdated, but it'll work anyways, then it freezes on the disclaimer screen. God dammit!

James
Apr 14th, 2003, 12:00 AM
It doesn't freeze. It just takes about 5 minutes to load because it's obviously THE BEST GAME EVER. :blah

Zomboid
Apr 14th, 2003, 12:12 AM
It does that 16 bit mode or whatever because the full version has the higher resolution. I think it's stupid to be holding that feature back, but that's why it does that.

Furthermore, you're sounding like a snotty penis.

I think the full version does look a bit better texture wise...I am sur ethe reason they hold back on the demo is to keep its size a bit smaller.

The game loads pretty fast for me..but it stinks that you have to load new areas so often. It runs really smooth for me even at 1600x1200 until I get into a big gun fight :( overall this game is pretty entertaining.

its not I was wrong :(

Duke Nukem was so badass, we would dial to each other on our 14.4 and play together.

A guy named Jon St. John does the voice for Duke Nukem.

The guy who did the voice for Caleb in Blood was sounded cool, too.

Zomboid
Apr 14th, 2003, 08:30 PM
Yeah, as far as fps characters go, Caleb's the coolest. Duke Nukem's just a rip off of a couple movie characters.

PS - Watch "they live" to see the lesser known of the 2 main characters duke rips off. Really, really good movie. Especially if you're a John Carpenter fan.

BLOOD!!!! YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!

I bought a full copy of Blood plus two extension packs AND the crappy strategy CD guide from Ebay last week for less than ten bux. And I got Blood 2 for about the same amount recently.

Yes, I'm a poor, misguided individual I know.

Anyway, Jamesman can go fuck himself - FPS rules. Give me a PC and keyboard and mouse, and nothing else compares.

As for Postal, I'm downloading it now (thank you Broadband) but I can't say I'm impressed by the screenshots. Looks all a bit Carmageddon 2 to me - too clear cut. I suppose I've just been playing too much NOLF 2.

But the original Postal! What a game! The old school sprite graphics, the blood, the "Ahh My Leg!!!!" exclamations of your victims!!

Awesome.

Mockery
Apr 16th, 2003, 12:07 PM
If you're looking for the most amazing 3D graphics, it's not your game. If you're looking for some good laughs like you had in the first Postal, then you won't be let-down.

I got the demo ASA it came out, and it was ok. The time limit is gay but it was fun. As for the full thing Gamespot gave it a 4.8 and rightfully so, it's pointless. Jamesman was right since the game lacks any depth at all whatsoever, and it leaves you wishing there was more point because it has the ability to be an awesome game. I've been looking forward to this game for a month, and the only joy is from when you first get it and you do some stuff, then the next fun part is the uninstallation. :( :( :(

Zomboid
Apr 16th, 2003, 11:36 PM
Oh get the fuck over it. It's meant to be a fun little game you play when you're bored or something, it's not supposed to have any fucking depth.

It's gonna take 2 hours or so to download.

while its loading I could clean and polish my guns, buy a new box of bullets, load my gun, then shoot myself in the mouth and still have about 30 minutes left.

And Rick Hunter is that dude from Robotech.
