I'll hold out on playing the fan translated first and third Earthbound for now, I heard a rumor that there planning on compiling all three games into a collection title for the DS. That'd explain why no ones bothered to translate the third one into english even though Earthbound has a dedicated cult following here in the states.

I doubt it. It's far too well translated. Plus, there's a part where they say that some company is building a "strip joint" in the Merryville town and the Nintendo of the early 90's would never allow that.

I thought it was an excellent game, from what I recall it was very hard though.

It is kinda hard at the part I'm at now, but nothing a little levelling up can't take care of. This game does have a tendency to throw in a ridiculously hard battle seemingly at random.
