View Full Version : What show/book/game would you want to see a movie made of?

I hope that makes sense.

Obviously, many movies are made being based on TV shows, books, comics, and video games (and maybe some other things too).

Now, pretending for a second that it would actually come out good, what would you want to see translated to the big screen?

Personally, I always, ALWAYS wanted to see Mutant Chronicles as a movie (and at one point, they were going to... Nutbunnies). For those of you who don't know what Mutant Chronicles is, there was a series of books (I only own the first one... Nutbunnies again), a video game, a board game, and I even believe a pen+paper RPG.

It's been a long time, so I don't remember the specifics. But it would rule if it were made into a movie.

I'd like to see some more Chuck Palahniuk books turned into films. Survivor would be the best, but any would be cool.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: CastleVania >:

IF it were made by the right people though. People who wouldn't want it to be anything like "the mummy". It would have to be a dark, creepy movie but with a very cool vampire hunter as the main character >:

Also, splatterhouse. Only if the creators didn't care how much the mpaa hated it and filled it with as much gore as possible.

castlevania would be a good one, but I would like to see a movie based on that one show with that guy that has that girl and they go and do those things.

I think if they made a Metal Gear Solid movie, it might come out well. MIGHT

I wouldn't mind seeing an animated Legend of Zelda movie.

Word about the new spawn movie is that we'll only see him maybe twice through the entire thing, and it's about Sam and Twitch. That fuckin' rocks.

As for game movies, i wanna see Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, and Metal gear as well.

That's shit. They're cool and all, but spawn's stories are a lot more interesting.

It defeats the point of being a "Spawn" movie. Hopefully they're marketing it as "Sam & Twitch," right?

Hayao Miyazaki should make a Legend of Zelda movie. That would so totally rock my face off. Miyazaki rules. I hope Spirited Away comes somewhere near me in south Mississippi.

A Castlevania movie would also be wonderful, as long as it's not cheesy and they're actually trying to make a good movie. And Michael Wincott would have to be in it in some capacity. Just because Michael Wincott should be in every movie.

Don't be gay, you homos. It's going to be more about the psychological effect that spawn has on the city, and how he manipulates the people and events as he does. Sam and Twitch are going to be kind of like his puppets, and it will be really cool. >:

A live action GI Joe movie.

Based on the comic.

There are not plans for a MGS movie whatsoever.

If they did do one though, I think it'd be one of those movies where it'd only be good under the following circumstances:

-The story was entirely new, set sometime after MGS2 (and possibly after MGS3, seeing how that game would probably come out before anything would actually happen with a movie). It could then answer some questions from the first 3 games, and lead in to the fourth. Make it an intricate part of the storyline, instead of some hack rewrite of the orginal. Normally, I wouldn't even suggest this, but I feel it's the only way to do a Metal Gear movie.
-Hideo Kojima and the Metal Gear team develop the story, naturally. If it's going to play a part in the game stories, then it should be done by those who do the games.
-Have the script written by David Hayter (for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who is not a faggot).

Fuck that. I doubt they'd do that since the first spawn movie blew ass and didn't really show him in all his glory.

MacFarlene got the rights back, so he's doing the sequel this time.

A movie based on the "Wayfarer Redemption" series by Sara Douglass. Sara Douglass is one of the best Australian fantasy authors there is in my opinion and a properly done movie I think would really escalate her popularity overall, maybe even convinicing her to do additional series of books with similar structure.

I'd like to see a movie based on Evil Dead: Hail to the King.

it's an Evil Dead game, and Bruce Campbell himself said that he and Sam Raimi that if they ever made a sequel, it'd propably be based on that game.

:love

anyways, I'd also like to see a movie based on Nocturne, or Unreal.

Right on!

"Ender's Game" would be cool, but since it revolves around kids, and for the most part child actors suck, it wouldn't be very good. Unless maybe it was animated...

Spawn fucking sucks. It will suck if they do another Spawn movie at all, regardless of whether it focuses on Spawn or Sam and Twitch. It promises to suck simply on the merit of it being Spawn.

Unless you mean just Space Ghost.

I will not retract my statement. Hey, you want a laugh? Pick up Spawn # 99, and you will find a letter by Jason Grunert in the letters page slamming Todd McFarlane and his crappy book. That's me. McFarlane completely sidestepped every single point I made and ignored them in his response, because he knew I was right.

That letter in #99 sums up my feelings on the book and why I don't bother reading that horrible piece of trash anymore.

I have the first 20 issues in trade paperbacks and everything from 21-100 in single issue format. I think I'm going to unload those on ebay soon.

Spawn fucking SUCKS. I stuck with it for FAR longer than I should have, wanting to give it a "chance" to get better. That's not going to happen. I got into Spawn when I was still reading a lot of shitty comics, I don't read crappy comics anymore.

This intrigues me. As for spawn sucking, i'll be the story really does, but i still like the artwork, and that's usually what makes a book for me. I don't keep up enough for the story to ever form something coherent, anyway. Just don't tell me Spawn: The Dark Ages sucks. >:

Proto: Think you could type up your letter along with MacFarlene's response by any chance?

I liked Spawn, but it never interested me to the point where I would buy it on a regular basis. It's highly over rated, I think.

Protoclown

:lol And now the truth comes out, the two guys who got angry when I called Spawn crap don't even buy the book! Well, I DID read the book for a long time so I know what I'm talking about when I call it crap.

My letter and the response are far too long for me to bother typing up here...but next time you find yourself in a comic book store just take a look at issue 99 in the back issues and check it out.

And Ninja, I only could stomach the first couple issues of Spawn: The Dark Ages. That book wasn't fit to wipe my ass with.

Jin, Crimson Skies would indeed be a great movie, if done correctly.

Keep in mind that these are on the condition that the movie would NOT suck:

Warcraft (1 and 2 could probably make a single movie), Legacy of Kain (Blood Omen could make the intro, Blood Omen 2 could be ignored, and Soul Reaver 1 and 2 could make up the rest), maybe the Myth series.

As for books, also provided it would not suck, Stephen King's Dark Tower saga. Though they'd have to break the trilogy standard and go for at least four, if not more movies, depending on how big the upcoming books are.
