Why the fuck would Batman and Superman battle each other in the first place? Aren't they, like, supposed to be fighting the crime together? I can understand bad guys vs. bad guys but good guys vs. good guys? That's just fucking absurd.

While they're practically best pals most of the time, their moral standpoints are vastly different (Superman being pro-law and Batman being a vigilante, for instance). Also, Batman is a fucking psycho at times, and there are all kind of brainwashing machines around. They've been duking it out more times than I can count.

Those two characters are at odds with each other quite a bit, actually. Batman usually wins though, because he is far more intelligent than Superman. Supes usually dishes out quite a pounding, but he's no tactician like Batman. Bats plans for everything and has contingency plans ready. Plus he's not afraid to fight dirty, whereas Clark is a fucking boy scout.

I am not very keen on Superman, but dosn't he beat the shit out of some guy named BRAINIAC all the time? You'd think somone named BRAINIAC would be slightly smart, no? Couldn't Superman just cave in Batman's head with one punch, regardless of Batman's intelligence?

Yes, he certainly could if he wanted to. But he doesn't want to. Because he's a goody goody boy scout. He'll hold back and just try to restrain Batman, while Bruce will just kick him in the nuts.

In a way, Superman is sure a tough bastard for taking the beating from Batman rather than beating him to the pulp with his super powers. This shows how true and loyal Superman is to the crime fighters like Batman. Loyalty is what you learn in boy scout.

Superman has one advantage over Batman aside from all the superpowers; I'm pretty sure that he knows that Batman is Bruce Wayne. In that Death of Superman aftermath, Superman asks Batman to come with him to that machine city where all the other superheroes are getting together to destroy it. He immediately recognizes that, aside from a different costume, it's not the old Batman underneath the mask, but he doesn't have time to use his x-ray vision to find out for sure. :eek
