When i was about 13, I lived in this area of the city where there was this kickass family owned video store. It was sweet. The selection of movies, altough scarce, was chock full of cheese and violence.
one weekend, i clearly remember having my parents give me about 10 dollars for movies. Movies there cost a dollar each (plus tax) so I rented 9 gory movies from the horror section. Good times. I can still remember the movies i brought home.
Evil Dead, Army of Darkness
Night of the Demons 2
The Texas Chainsaw massacre
Return of The living dead
Night of the Living dead (original)
Hellraiser
Dawn of the Dead
Basket Case
Anyone else have some good memories about this.

My late night horror memories stem from watching episodes of "USA Up All Night" hosted by either Rhonda Shear or Gilbert Gottfried. There was also a daytime equivalent of their show hosted by Commander USA. Goddamn, that's when TV was truly awesome.
BEHOLD THE EVIDENCE!

Goddamnit I miss these shows so much. If I could ever get a TV show of my own, this is exactly the kind of shit that I would bring back.

AMC has a thing called Fear Friday they show around 10:00 PM (depending on where you live, I assume) where they show a good old horror movie. Last weekend they showed the original Child's Play, and they've shown most of the Jason and Halloween movies. I've also seen a couple Nightmare on Elm Street movies, Fright Night, and The Omen III. Once they even showed Dr. Giggles.
Sometime they show a real funky one though. Once they showed one from the 80's one about a giant mutated bear. It was the definition of a "B-movie".
Also, I hear that Butch Patrick hosts one of those old style horror movie shows.

I really love that kinda thing. Cheesy old horror movies are awesome and when I stay home on saturday nights it's sometimes more fun watching a couple of those back to back than it is going out and doing something.

Due to the lack of video stores not a blockbuster or other crap. And lack of retailers. I have been resorted to downloading some great movies. I just downloaded Night of the Demons and are currently downloading Cannibal Holocaust. Havent seen Cannibal Holocaust but if what i have read is any thing to trust, its gonna be violent :)
