my 360 died today, i hadn't played it in like a month but i stuck ghost recon in there & it froze in the middle of gameplay. i turned it off & back on, and it made a loud SQUELCH noise. 360 screen came up, froze. turned it off again, turned it back on and this time it didn't even register anything to my TV and now it has a nice red ring where it use to be green? what the fuck? it's not covered by warranty as it's been longer than 90 days, but how much am i expected to pay to fix such a problem? can i fix it myself or what?
I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN TO ME :(

Is the light red instead of green? I have a friend who's 360 does the same thing as yours. He didn't treat it all that well though.

yes :( i treated mine good :(
i have been reading up on it, and if you send it to MS they'll just send you back a system that already broke :/

now my dick is broken :x yes apparently MS upped their warranty to 1 year, but mine says 90 days. I'll call MS, but I have no reciept. I am pretty sure mine isn't even a year old, though.

I got totally screwed by my first 360. Then after I "temporarily fixed it" they upped their warranty to a year... of course they wouldn't take my tampered with one. Bastards. I am always good with all my gaming stuff so the 360 itself was the only one to blame for its death. My 2nd 360 has been working good so far.
Anyway, yeah, they should be able to determine if you are under warranty when you call them even if you don't have the reciept.

Tell em' you want the new 360 Elite, for the damage that was inflicted on your psyche after the traumatic experience you had to endow when it broke.

they're sending me a box (coffin) within 5 (4 now) days to ship it off to the xbox repair factory place (some sort of science lab reanimation facility where they zombify these motherfuckers)
it was all under the extended 1 year warranty and thus free, good deal i guess? dosn't pay for the time i won't be playing it, maybe I should send a little note asking for some free games? think they'll do it?

Do it. Probably won't work but worth a try. Calling and asking for a customer service rep would be a better bet though. A note would just be tossed out.

Haha, with lenore's use of the word endow, it makes it seem like you can just turn on trauma in your mind.

yea a better word choice probably would've been undergo and it doesn't break the rhyme deal

They send me a broken xbox when I sent mine in for repair, so I had to send that one in for repair too. I have a working one now, plus 2 bonus face plates!
