What the hell? I am shocked. Maybe I'm a little behind on current videogame news, but weren't they gonna take a break from the series? The trailer on xbox live looks really good, and clearly has at least 2 years of work in it.

EDIT: Holy crap I guess I am disconnected from videogames. This game is set to come out October.

I don't know where the 4 is coming from other than the fact that it's the fourth 3D GTA game

I think they are just going off the last number shown, since they can't just call it "liberty city" or something. Or they are counting the last 3 games all as GTA 3 because they are all pretty much the same game. Like when Vice City was first coming out and being talked about it was originally named "GTA 3: Vice City" as sort of a tack-on extension on the existing game.

MILHOUSE I AM SHOCKED AT YOUR IGNORANCE. If they append a subtitle like liberty city stories or vice city, it's not a real sequel. Just another set of stories with no major changes to the game itself.

My favorite one was either London or 2. At least I think it was called London. But yeah its definately not the 4th in the whole series.

Technically I think it's GTA 9, but all the games outside of the 'official' numbered series happen in different times (except Liberty City Stories).

games after 3, like vice city and san andreas are supossed to be chapters or something like that
