Hand Of Doom
Original Artist: Black Sabbath
Coverer: Isis
The original song is cool and everything, but the Isis version is fucking awesome. I know some people who dont like this cover because it doesnt really sound a lot like Isis, but I think it shows that they can be pretty versatile.

Any Elvis song is better with the tempo speeded up.

Das Model - Kraftwerk
Coverer- Rammstein
Even if you hate Rammstein, you have to admit that the original one sucked worse than the cover.

Doesn't seem like you folks are willing to open up to pig, but I think the jazzy cover he did of Head Like A Hole stomps the original into the ground.

Yes, because death metal bands that seem to sound just like any other death metal band are the pinnacle of music.

Haha, how long do you think Pig has been around? Nearly 20 years. Raymond himself has been doing various stuff with industrial bands since the early 80s. Including Einsturzende Neubauten, Foetus, and Mona Mur.

If anything he is a Foetus ripoff, I just like to think he does what he does a bit better than Thirlwell.

You really can't compare Manson to anything, that guy is a joke. I hope Tim Skold get's the hell out of there. You are the first person I have ever heard compare Pig and Manson, more people compare him to NIN. Even then, I don't think there's much of a comparison.

Back on topic.
Band: Type O Negative
Cover: Every cover they've done

Ray Charles rendition of "Ol' Man River". You can't fucking match Ray. Fuck the Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra versions. There is only Ray.

Also
I heard it through the Grapevine- Marvin Gaye
orginal- Smokey Robinson & the Miracles (I think)

Coverer - Cannibal Corpse

Song - Confessions

Coveree - Possessed

I always skip the original one while listening to The Eyes of Horror, but Cannibal Corpse's version is one of my favorite songs.

Coverer: Sleep

Song: Snowblind

Coveree: Black Sabbath

Seriously, even Ozzy Osbourne said he was blown away by this cover. I thought the Sabbath version was phenomenal but Sleep does the impossible. IMO they out-Sabbath-ed Sabbath.

Coverer: Sunn O)))

Song: For Whom the Bell Tolls

Coveree: Metallica

Just because they renamed it as F.W.T.B.T. (I Dream of Lars Ulrich Going Through the Bus Window Instead Of My Mystikal Master Kliff Burton)

Just a a louder, slightly faster version of an already great tune.
