View Full Version : Bad, Bad Headache

I've been a pretty lucky kid.

My entire life, I've never really had headaches. I don't know what it is; I get dizzy sometimes, and it hurts to shake my head, but in contrast to what I'm feeling right now, those are not headaches. This is a headache to make you wonder if every other headache was infatuation, and this is love, oh God this is deep love.

This headache, is a life experience.

Like, I went to bed with it around midnite, and it kept me up until 1, whereafter I dozed into that comfortable medium between sickness and sleep, the mercy God put in your brain, what pained people pray for. It's something like nirvana.

It woke me back up at five, and it's worse. Medicine of any kind has never ever worked for me and no-one believes me. It's true, though. It doesn't kill the pain, just puts it through a filter; medicine roughs it up a little, spits on it and leaves it in an alley. Scares it a little, but it doesn't leave town. I cake on three layers of HEAD-ON and take a pill of ibuprofen just in case.

I get back to bed. When I turn off the light and close my eyes, I can feel my brain literally burning away. When I close my eyes, I can see words burning too, and I can't believe it. Two words are above anything, the word "City" and the word "She", both in 36 point font, they stay above the flames while everything else burns. I guess that's supposed to be a source of inspiration, its supposed to mean something. It doesn't mean anything to me, though.

What I'm trying to ask is, and I'm being completely serious about this:

Is this a headache?

It sounds almost like a migraine, and you might be falling halfway asleep and imagining CITY SHE. I say try an icepack on the back of your neck and try again.

Did you apply the head on directly to your forehead?

I get horrible migraines all the time, I just take some Ibuprofin & drink lots of water. Also, avoid masturbating as it might make your head hurt even worse (trust me!)

You said that you get dizzy sometimes? Well, maybe you could have an inner ear infection, that causes vertigo.
Or the inner ear infection could also be caused by a sinus infection that spread and that is why you have a headache when you shake your head sometimes and thus would causes dizziness. But it your headache is/was as bad as what you say, I'm sure it's a migrane. Take Excedrine. It's full if caffene, so don't take it before you go to bed. Once you've had a migrane you are more suceptable to them from now on, so BEWARE!

Check for any protruding metallic objects on your skull. You'd be amazed at what could turn up. :(

Let's also not rule out that it might be a brain tumor.

Ever see Pi? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headache)

Cluster headache sufferers typically experience very severe headaches of a piercing quality near one eye or temple that last for fifteen minutes to three hours with some lasting days. The headaches are usually and occasionally change sides.

To be serious, the most common symptom of brain tumors is alteration of the senses, I guess the most common being the pervasive scent of burning rubber. That's fun to tell people because then they start wondering if everything they smell is burning rubber! As for sudden illnesses that might cause a headache, my only guess is meningitis. Very common among college kids. I don't know if it causes headaches, but it makes sense to me that the increased pressure on the skull would cause cranial pain while the brain itself has no sensation.

Edit: If it is meningitis, and look at the symptoms on its wikipedia article if you don't know, then you really need to get it taken care of. You could end up as brain damaged as most of the posters on this board!

I recommend pot, personally. Whenever i have any type of head/neck ache weed generally helps... same with really bad stomach aches. I used to get piercing stomach aches in the morning probably from something i ate since i used to eat a lot at night, and id smoke in the morning when my tummy hurt and id feel better :(

The best advice in this thread is from Noob3 drink lots of water pal :O
Also try hanging upside down! not literally, maybe, just do some type of exercise to get all the blood in your head, then make all the blood leave your head, then make it go to your head again and do that a lot those are the only solutions i can think of except maybe some herbal crap or eat more fruits or something.
A good exercise for getting blood in your head and getting it to rush in and out might be to crouch on all fours on your knees like a dog (ok so dogs dont crouch on their kneesits KIND of like a dog) and hang your head, then stand on the tops of your feet so your body looks like a ^ when you need to get blood to your head, justdo the ^ thing and simply step up to your feet that's a yoga move dude. it's called like downward facing dog and cat something i think.

If you take any allergy medicine a really common side effect is headaches. Id get really fucking terrible ones, where if I walked wrong I would wince and stop. If thats whats going on when you walk, PUT THE ALLERGY MEDS AWAY. I had to find that out the hardway. Now when I get a headache it feels like that again.
