One time I was making a pork roast, and it needed some sweet element in the marinade. On a whim I chose grenadine. It was delicious! Nobody to whom I've spoken have ever heard of such an outrageous move. I also added herbe de Provence, rosemary, raw sugar, and cinnamon with a red wine vinegar to tenderize it. Definitely my finest culinary creation ever.
