One of the nice things about living in L.A. is any time there's some kind of big new movie promotion going on, you can count on it being here. Sure enough, one of the very few 7-Elevens that were converted into a Kwik-E-Mart is right down the road from where I live. So, I decided to take a bunch of photos for those of you who don't happen to live near one of the 12 7-Eleven stores that they converted. It should go without saying, this is truly the greatest movie promotion ever.

They put three in California and none in Phoenix. Go to hell, 7-Eleven. I'm taking my business to QuikTrip.

It actually is an ingenious promotion. Those marketing guys are getting mighty tricky.

It really is an ingenious promotion...for a movie I still have absolutely zero interest in seeing.

It kind of reminds me of all the promotion they did for Vacancy. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452702/)

They had a 1-800 number or something you could call for the motel in the movie, and once you hung up, the system would call you back, and spout off 1 of a few pre-recorded messages. Really neat stuff, it's just too bad that the movies they promote are less interesting than the advertising itself.

What's the Simpson's moie supposed to be about, anyways? Either way, I need to find a 7-11 (or Kwik-e-Mart)

I bet 10 bucks that it's something along the lines "Homer screws up and he has to save his marriage/family from crumbling" :/

He causes a nuclear accident and everyone has to move out of town, or something.

The teaser trailers were horrendous but I thought the newest one was quite funny. I'm looking forward to it.

It'll probably be as funny as the TV show has been in the last 14 years.

Which is to say, it'll be extremely unfunny and made of suck and fail.

Also This is one of the best scenes ever.

The Simpsons is still good from time to time, and since when has it been bad for 12 or 14 years? It's arguably declined since season 10 but that was only 8 years ago; there's at least 200 great episodes and the movie's writing staff is perfect.

The clips I've seen, although a very small part of the movie, remind me of the abundantly cynical, sarcastic style of season 6/7. Maybe I just have a boner for David Mirkin but his sensibility seems to shine through quite strongly.
