I still have Cecropia on my AIM buddy list, I haven't talked to her probably since 2002. Every now and then I see her online and think of starting talking to her all buddy-buddy just for the sake of being creepy, but I haven't stalked her at all (I forget her name and whatnot) so it'd lose its affect. I mean, I could say "HAY REMEMBER I-MOCKERY LOL", but I gotta have style.

I used to be Winston Smith back in the day, if you were unaware.

Buffalo Tom
Jul 9th, 2007, 03:12 PM
Hey Max! I'm glad you're still around making with the 'yuck-yucks'.

Hey Jason! Are you working in the comic industry?

Hey Rog! You and Marie sick of LA yet? I definitely want to move back, but I haven't found the right opportunity.

Hey Jixby! You still effin' the shit?

Hey the guy formerly known as Wintson! What was your schtick again?

Protoclown
Jul 9th, 2007, 03:34 PM
No, not working in the comic industry, but hey, I have a regular comic column and regular comic "redubs" on here now, so that's something fun and comic related anyway. :\

Nopers! Things are going nicely out here... Re's really been doing well with her art too. There's just a lot of opportunity out here for the both of us to do things we couldn't even dream of doing back in Richmond heheh. We might end up moving closer to West Hollywood or Westwood in the coming months actually... will keep ya posted on that.

Lemme know if you do land a new position with EA (or some other game company) back here though, it'd be cool to have ya around again man. Hope the job has been treatin' ya well so far.

RoG lives in BURBANK now. Is that hillarious or what??? 'CAUSE THAT'S MY NAME! WHY DON'T YOU TAKE A PICTURE OF MY NAME, ROGER, IT WILL LAST LONGER!

Hang on, Tom, RoGer is thinking of a dirty joke about things that 'last longer'.

I was trying to be kind by not mentioning WHY we were planning on moving out of Burbank, but what the hell.

Everybody here looks like Max. Furthermore, they ACT just like Max, which of course means you get knocks on your door at 4am and find some fucking sloth asking if you have any "extra gin" that he can "borrow". It'd be a great place to live if it wasn't for all of the reminders of Max. Why do you think I moved out here in the first place? To get as far away from Max as I could without having to leave the country!

Jul 9th, 2007, 04:59 PM
Huh. That's why I moved to salem.

I miss the old old board, when you guys and a bunch of other people whose names I can't remember used to post there. They were great, whoever they were.

Sorry, didn't mean to get all sentimental there.

Hi'yer, all. Let's re-attach the velvet rope and have Darryl keep all the riff-raff out, shall we?

I'm no longer with EA. I got lured from LA (where, in hindsight, I had it pretty good) to work in EA's Montreal studio. It was a crap 10 month experience. Promises that were made to me were broken, and I just got fed up with the company. I left and joined another company, which, in hindsight, I should not have joined so quickly. Sigh. Fuckin' Montreal.

Hey Sspad! Still living in the midwest?
Hey Dole! Still work for the BBC?
Hey Carnivore! Still slapping your forehead over the Bruins' collective ineptitude?
Hey Cosmo! Still doing whatever you did when last I was on here?

here's what I've been up to:

1. I went to school and got a teaching degree and it has been the most rewarding chapter of my life thus far working as a teacher

2. lied about getting a teaching degree on a message board just now

3.

Cosmo Electrolux

1. Went back to school, but no degree yet
2. Getting divorced (best decision of my life....yep)
3. same dead end job with zero chance of promotion...but, hey...it pays the ex's mortgage until I graduate
4. wondering what happened to everyone from the board...I MISS YOU GUYS!!!!

I just read a stupid newspaper article about EA. There was this line about how "EA's Rock Band is going to compete with Activision's Guitar Hero" except Rock Band and Guitar Hero are DEVELOPED BY THE SAME FUCKING COMPANY YOU CORPORATE JERK PUBLISHERS WHO THINK YOU OWN EVERY GAME JUST BECAUSE YOU PAY SOME MONEY TO PUT IT ON THE SHELF >:

Yeah, I know EA actually has a hand in the development of Rock Band, but Harmonix is obviously the main contributor. :/

Sorry Mr. Buffalo, I don't mean to hijack your thread. Welcome back.

Sucks to hear about your job, BT. I have a friend in Vancouver who turned down a job with EA because he didn't like what he heard about them from everyone.

Yeah, EA Montreal was pretty shitty. They told me I'd work less hours than I worked in EA Los Angeles, which was a complete lie. A girl I was dating at the time ditched me because I was working so much. I'm still bitter about the experience.

Sorry to hear about the job probs man...

Would you come back to EA here if they had a decent job for ya now that you said you had it pretty good there in hindsight, or are you done with that company forever now?

I'd only work for EA if the job was in one of their California studios. The Canadian studios seem to suck ass.

Yeah that's why I said the EA studios here as opposed to the ones up in Canada. So since you're not happy with your current place, are you looking for game industry jobs elsewhere?

Most definitely. I want to work with people I like, and with whom I've worked previously. Plus, I was crazy to leave California for Montreal. That place is a dump.
