So, me and my friend have decided to buy together either a Wii or Gamecube and we have listed games we should buy/try. So far we have:

Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes
Resident Evil Zero
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 4
Smash Bros. Melee
Mortal Kombat Deadly AllianceThe list is still quite small, so could you guys suggest any great games we should consider buying? Are there any games we should avoid?

No, get the original

We have both played through the original MGS, we just thought that it would be cool to try the remake. Is the remake crappier than the original? I've heard that the remake has all kind of new and cool stuff.

Why would you avoid it? I've heard lots of positive reviews about it.

Timsplitters: Future Perfect. It has a co-op story mode. It's made by the people who made Goldeneye. You can make your own levels. You can make your levels look like half-assed re-makes of Goldeneye levels.

I am a huge Timesplitters fan. It's freakin' awesome.

You could get Chibi Robo for the sheer oddity factor. It's like Mister Mosquito for the PS2.

I think Excite Truck is fun and I hear good things about Paper Mario. Having played the original Paper Marios, I think it won't disappoint. Plus there's good stuff coming out for the Wii soon. I think.

cause it's not scary in the least and there's zero replay value

Metroid Prime, one of my favorite games, tons of replay value
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Viewtiful Joe 1
Okami

If you're big into Co-op, just get a 360: Halo 1/2/3, Gears of War, and Army of Two
