Vince, this IS you, isn't it?

Here's a writing sample from the FAQ:

"But just a little about myself to give you an idea. I am a college student at small private college in Missouri. I like loud music, loud movies, and loud pretty much anything. I like sports, hot chicks (of all ethnic backgrounds, although I am a bit of a rice king if you catch my drift), and things that blow up. I love my childhood nostalgia and my talk radio. I have the interests of a 5 year old and the social graces of a 30 year old. I like it all. I like being me. And I love insulting stupid people. Especially liberals. God put liberals on the planet to prove that He does exist, because natural evolution could not make a liberal, because tigers and gryphon would have destroyed them before they learned to talk about "tax cuts for the rich" and "gun control" laws. And my bile is just not spewed at liberals either. Ones who call themselves "conservative" and are total assholes get it to. So don't think I cant choose between the Nation of Islam and the World Church of the Creator. If it were up to me, they would be forced to live in Mississippi and Africa, respectively."

Note the odd sentence structure, as in "And my bile is just not spewed at liberals either."

Note his offering that he likes "hot chicks (of all ethnic backgrounds, although I am a bit of a rice king if you catch my drift),"

If this aint Vince Himself, he got a serious "Single White Female" plot line going on.

Well, vibe, if you can find the chicks, Ill post them. In fact, if you would like to write or do anything for the site, just tell me and Id be more than happy to post it up. Vince, when and if your site, with or without porn has been up for two years, if you have more than 10,000 hits I will issue a public apology.

AND look at all the traffic I'm personally driving there! If that isn't sporting, lord knows what is.

The only point I'm making is your sad little excuse for the porn links. Are you ashamed of them? Embarassed by them? At odds with your Catholocism over them? Then get rid of them. If not, be a man about the fact you have them, but don't make excuses about traffic. IF your site has any appeal, word will spread based on it's merits. Like I-mockery. 'Simple as that.'

AChimp
Apr 18th, 2003, 01:21 PM

In two weeks, the largest amount of traffic I have had was 120 uniques and that was last wednesday. I don't publicly advertise right now and I am doing it just for fun, so it's good for what I want at this time.

Max, I am not ashamed of having pictures of beautiful naked women on my site. I do it because of the traffic. And because I like women. Would I rather not have them so I can make it a bit safer for work? Yes. But who cares, people don't have to look at them if they don't want to.

Hawkin's new Right Wing News site must not be doing as well as Brass Knuckles was. Either that or people just don't care about Terry "who the fuck" Hughes. :lol

Vince, I was wondering about why you want people to speak English when they are around you. Specifically, I would like to know what difference it makes for two Chinese people in a Chinese restaurant to be speaking Chinese to each other. I'm sure you still get to interact with the waiters in English. Do you just like eavesdropping on people and get frustrated when you can't?

VinceZeb
Apr 18th, 2003, 01:52 PM
Hawkins wanted to do a site. So he is doing one. He enjoys what he does, I would assume. Just as anyone else who does a site.

I talked to Terry Hughes and he was a nice guy. He does more with his life than you do. So I think you should be laughing at yourself. Does anyone else on this board have a radio show that is syndicated by 17 stations across the nation? Dont think so.

So why do you use a Chinese restaurant as an example of where people should speak English? They're not talking to you, so why should it concern you what they are talking about? It's their business.

You are trying to backpedal now.

I fail to see how it's disrespectful, either. You should consider getting "TALK TO ME IN FUCKING ENGLISH" tatooed on your forehead, but I don't think your bosses at the private school would like that, and I hear that God abhors body art, particulary the profane kind.

"as long as I make someone out there laugh or say "Hey, that's a pretty good point!" I will be happy."

Well, what about those of us who go there and say "Whoah! That's a whole pile of jim dandy examples of seriously bad English! Why I've met Chinamen in restaurants with more respect for my language!"

Vincey sent me a private than you note thanking me for posting his quotes, and to keep doing it.

I was all, like, "Man, he WANTS me too... OH NO, SOMEHOW HE"S TWISTING THIS TO HIS OWN ADVANTAGE! IT'S A TRAP! OH, GOD IT'S A TRAAAAAP!!"

And then I remembered that this is Vince. My guess? He doesn't even know the criteria I use to select his quotes. It's not how mean they are, or how ignorant or biased or infuriating. No, they all have just one thing in common. They are really bad writing. And I'm not talking content here, just really, really bad writing. Each and every one has serious flaws of gramar, syntax, word use, construction or all of the above.

OH DAMN, I GAVE AWAY MY CRITERIA!

That's the best excuse for being stupid I've heard in a very long time. So kudos there.

Here's the problem. Yogi's quotes were often deliberate. Yours are the prodcut of a poor grasp of English. If you ever ended up saying anything even remotely 'Deep' on a semi regualr basis, you'd qualify as an idiot savant. No one has ever suggested that about Mr. Bera.

I'll tell you what, I'll select one of your quotes and deconstruct it. Then you can have a whack at showing me it's 'Deeper Meaning'.

But why fight? We've found common ground. We now agree, your writting 'sounds stupid'.

If you are going to say

then you want to say

"Since I own THEM", plural and not

"since I on it" Singular.

Hmmm. That's not funny or insightful, and if there's some deeper meaning brought out by mixing plural and singular words, I'm missing it. Maybe it's me, but that sentence, unlike Mr. Berra's, just sounded stupid.

There is no such thing as toning Vince. It is a misconception that you can target your fat loss. The abdominal area of the body simply holds more fat and is also an area of extreme water retention, which I'm betting is your culprit.

Try consuming less sodium, more water and continue to lose fat and in time your abs should become clearly visible.

Or you can eat a bottle of ephedra and purge yourself after every meal eventually succumbing to the stress you put on your body and collapsing from heart failure. You'll be dead, but I guarentee you'll be the most ripped corpse in the family.

Okay, lets say he means 'as' and not since, ie. speaking 'as' a Catholic, with some authority on the subject.

It's pretty clear he means truth 'in' the idea, and not truth 'into' as that wouldn't mean anything.

"Catholics are a part of the whole Anti-Christ situation."

This is the most difficult part. What exactly is 'the whole Anti-Christ situation'? Does he mean the rise of a literal antichrist, and is he suggesting that this anti-christ is posing as a Catholic? Does he mean that false Catholics or weak, corrupt Catholics encourage the future rise of an anti-christ? Or is he merely stating that evil has a firm foothold within the Catholic churhc as it exists today?

In any of these interpretations, one still has to ask, how is this in any way a response to your joking suggestion, Kelly, that you have begun a cult like branch of Christianity that posits Vince as the Antichrist?

Shut your cock-hole, Max. I swear, you try to overanalyze everything like there is an interior motive.

Yes, there are some very beautiful women out there that are BLACK! God forbid anyone point that out, because pointing out features of a woman would be a bad thing! But if I was black and saying the same fucking thing, you wouldn't try to analyze it like I am doing a fucking doctorate report. And I guess black women haven't been shown throughout the years in media? How did people in mainstream America learn about women like Hallie Berry or Pam Grier, through legends passed down by fruity looking guys with puffy pants playing at expos in museums like you work at?

No, you stupid cunt, THEY WERE SHOWN ON TELEVISON! Quit trying to make me come off as some kind of possessive asshole. I can't help that I like to point out what makes women beautiful! Oh man, I said a black girl has braided hair and nice legs, I must be trying to make her an object! Oh man, can't point anything out! My best friend's wife is from from Indonesia, but by saying that I must be fullfilling some kind of white man's sterotype by pointing out something that is fucking obvious! Man, the rolling stones are a bunch of possessive assholes because they wrote a song called BROWN SUGAR! IT was about, GASP, a black girl! I think the NAACP and Max Burbank should join up to make sure this horrible objectional song is never sung again!

And that dirty David Bowie. "China Girl"?!?! Well, that is just a sterotyping of a woman who happens to be Chinese. It is just not right that he points out that the woman is chinese. Couldn't it have just been short haired girl or beautiful girl! It is obvious that Bowie is a racist bigot who has never had any communication with Asian people in his life because he wrote a song about a China girl.

Man, these guys are close minded bigoted assholes who never have associated with someone who wasn't white in their life! I hope Max and Kelly get on the ball and tell the world about this evil scheme that is being promoted throughout the world for the last half century! Go, Kelly! Go, Max! RUN! SAVE US FROM THE EVIL IDEA OF DESCRIBING PEOPLE FOR BEING UNIQUELY DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER! WE ALL MUST BE THE SAME!

Bringing up race to use in a description of another person is one thing. But some people seem to bring it up like it's a badge of honor for themselves because they have contact with people of other varying ethnic backgrounds.

People who truly don't think it's a big deal don't feel the need to talk about it at every opportunity.

VinceZeb

I bring it up to either 1) help with a visualization of a person or 2) to make people look stupid. You won't hear me too freakin often say that "I can't be racist, some of my best friends are blah blah blah."

I could honestly give a shit less what the people I associate with are when it comes to skin color and ethnic background. Who gives a shit? Does it help me sometimes describe a person so a better visualization can be made in the head? yes it does, but I talk about it a lot less "in real life" than I do here.

Vince, watch your blood pressure. You might give yourself a nosebleed, you're so worked up.

Here's what I find most amussing about that amazing hissy fit you posted. You still don't understand what I'm making fun of about. Yes, I think you are bigotted, but in a fairly harmless way. But your line about Black Women being 'shown; is only ironic in that respect, since of course I know that isn't what you meant.

It's that you didn't understand then, and clearly still don't, how bad that sentence was. It isn't always the case that people who write as badly as you do are stupid, but that's certainly how a reader will percieve them.

"Look at the beautiful black women that have been shown in our culture for years."

1.) In context you didn't mean the reader should speciffically look at individual black women. Your describing a phenomena, so you want to say "Look at HOW" or "The Way" or "The manner in which". Your initial error is compounded by using 'That' which references particular beautiful black women as opposed to all beauftiful black women.

2.) 'Have been shown in our culture' is a very awkward construction. We, the culture, are the subject of your sentence and not the object. To make your point, you want your reader to look at the culture and it's perceptions, not the beautiful black women. Your point is about the culture.

3.) 'Shown'. You show a dog, you show a car, you show furniture or even paintings, you do not show people. If you don't want to convey objectification than don't use this word. Thats why Hallie Berrie is in X-men 2, or appears in x-men 2 or stars in x-men 2 and is not shown in x-men 2. That's why Phylicia Rashad was in the Cosby show or on a tv show and was not shown on tv. Its why you say I want you to meet my beautfiul black girlfriend and not I want to show you my beautfiful black girlfriend.

What made me laugh about that sentence was not tht it revealed you to be a racist. It was that in an atempt to prove you were not a racist you accidentally said something that if taken at face value was extremely racist, and you don't even know you did it, and I'd wager even now you don't understand it.

Words have meaning, structure is there for a reason.

Now. Please remember, the whole reason for this thread. YOU desribed yourself a 'someone who speaks in intelligent sentences'. I thought that was dlightfully absurd. Hence my two threads collecting your hysterical errors. You thanked me for doing this at one point. Have you changed your mind?

Did you commit a crime you're afraid you'll be prosecuted for? Did you harm an innocent person? Did you accidentally hurt yourself? Oh, man... He's got an article up on how much he hates Porn stars who are pretentious. Apparently a 'chick' being 'hot' doesn't mean Vince can't hate them. Even ethnic chicks. He likes to watch, and if they remember they are whores he's okay with them. It's such a revolting article I haven't even been able to plump it fort choice sentences yet.

Plus, while he says it's 'safe for work', it's got pictures that while they may not feature exposed genitals are certainly not 'work friendly'.

I'll get around to making fun of it, but it's a really pathologic piece and fairly disturbing.

So Vince, you're saying you DON'T watch porn? You're saying you dig a lap dance, you go to strip clubs, you post all those naughty pics on your site, you link to porn sites, but you personally scruple at watching Porno?

Don't you think Asia is a 'hot asian chick', and doesn't that mean your penis makes it impossible for you to hate her?

VinceZeb
May 14th, 2003, 10:15 AM
I do not watch porn. I do look at pictures of chicks, but I do not go out specifically to watch people have sex. And as you may notice, my links are to sites of women who are not having sex. I try to have some sort of decency.

And no, I think Asia is fucking ugly. She is a man made frankenstein who is only says she is asian to trump up sales. She is racist and an elitist wench. Also, I have seen the woman without makeup. Woof.

-Vinth

You could try harder. You support the industry. Now me, I have no problem with the idea of a sex industry. I'm very Liberatarian that way. I do have a problem with exploitation. Like any other job, the should be safe, clean, have a minum wage and if they want one, a union. Or are you suggesting that what they do for a living means they should sacrafice basic human rights?

If you want to laugh at how stupid some of them are, or how pretentious, go right ahead. THAT's laughable. But the viceral loathing that steams from every word in tht essay is really pathologic. You come across not as amussing, but quite literally mentally ill.

Vibecrewangel

Vince, a lot of those interviews are just as fake as the orgasms the women are having on film.

That whole, "it's art" thing helps to perpetuate the "dumb slut" image that helps to make the industry and thus the actors $$$$.
It's all part of the fantasy. Many of the "I was abused" women do it for the same reason. Fantasy. The ones who were really abuse often walk away from it at some point realizing they had cut off their nose to spite their face.

You can do pretty much anything you want and I can't stop you. This thread, however, while dominated by collected examples of Vinces bad writing culled from his writting, is about the site, Catholic Samurai.

The numbered quotes are all examples of bad writing. Many of them may also be stupid and objectionable, but only by coincidence. I've seen some VERY stupid and objectionable sentences on his site, but they were structurally correct, so I don't include them.

The best place to put criticisms of the CONTENT of catholic Samurai, would be on it's own message board, o in thread here titled VINCE PROVED BONEHEAD ON OWN SITE" or something to that effect. I'll find it and bump it.

Why?

Because I'm helpful.

That's just a side note and has nothing to do with the reason I posted 206. I liked 'fall back on' as a way of communicating the concept of an example, and "some intelligent ones out there" as it's sued could modify either Humor sites or morons. Also, his ubiquitous use of the verb "To show", a personal Vinth fave, which he uses to mean say, tell, demonstrate, prove, present, embody, enable, write, argue for and whole host of other, better suited words.

I'm not the grammar police. You have to rise to a serious and consistent level of awfullness before I even care.

Irony also helps. Look at the title of my other thread collecting Vinthisms, "Someone who speaks in intelligent sentences". That's a Vinth quote. Had he not said that, it might have been taken me longer to notice he was worth collecting.

His rebuttal to my charge tht he writes like an eight year old was that he didn't care enough about I-mock to write well. That's why I started this thread, collecting quotes from his own site, which I presume he cares a little more about. I don't see any striking improvements.

Newsfilter. Vinth begged like a junky for months and then put in next no effort at all, siting broken links, refusing to say what the broken links were supposed to link to or in what way they supported his arguments such as they were and basically putting up less fight the a Girl Scout with Pneumonia.

Which was funny, since he'd bragged that he'd dress me up as sailor moon and parade me.

Which is a kind of sick way to look at debate in any case.

I had only one intention, to show that Vinth was a blowhard who could not support any of the shit that tubled out his pie hole every time he opened it. I feel confident I achieved that.

This thread and a few others like it are my personal tribute to one of the great Naive Writers of our time, Vinth. His genious is utterly unintentional and rarely if ever does what he wants it to do, but that only enhances it's brilliance.

My fave from that batch is
"No matter your position on our "War on Terrorism", we can all admit that unless we are a terrorism expert or a part of the Bush cabinets, we don't know all the information behind all the actions the Bush administration is taking."

'Your' (singular) is paralell with 'we' (plural) which is then paralell with 'a terrorism expert (singular) and then with 'a part of the bush cabinets (plural for furniture, since the cabinet is the group of secretaries, a part of being a single secretary) not to mention being 'a part of' instead of 'a member', which is pralell with we again (still plural) and the whole mess ends with a double use of the word all, which is redundant twice and uneccesary in context even once.

'Admit' is used instead of 'agree', 'that' is uneccesary, and you could admit the entire first two thirds of the sentence and replace it with the words 'No one knows' without significantly altering the statements meaning.

378.) "Let’s talk about the biggest idiotic claim that liberals make that would make anyone with… six brain cells would be able to call out as bullshit:"

379.) "Now, I know a lot of you are wondering right now how the people who think there is a conservative media bias have went without mistaking cleaning fluid for fruit juice this long in their life."

382.) "Man, this idea is so stupid that even thinking about it makes blood shoot out my nose and my IQ drop to about 70 points, which so happens to be the average IQ of a socialism-supporting college student."

383.) "The majority of the population watches CBS, ABC, and NBC because of the lower number ranking on the dial, the fact that they are easily reached on every television in the country, and the fact that they have the most popular shows (by proxy) in the cable land."

384.) "To give you a view of where I lay when it comes to the balance of the news media, I believe Fox News with a right-of-center slant, MSNBC swings between left and right every few days, and I wouldn’t be surprised if your contract to work at CNN had a clause which made you destroy the right turn signal on your car"

385.) "Now, does Fox News + Talk Radio, who reaches a lot of cross-listeners (people who listen to more than one show a day, i.e. Boortz then O’Reilly then Hannity for example) beat out the combined 6 to 7 pm view periods of ABC, NBC and CBS? I doubt it."

386.) "One didn’t have the intelligent to debate a younger, dumber me on the facts (see examples here and here) and the other one has a radio show that is so bad, I would send tapes to my local talk radio station so they would get him on the air here and watch the intelligent people of our great land making him look like the short bus rider he is."

Yeah, that's probably what he meant. See, for me, I'm not 'shopping' anything anywhere unless I'm showing it to people who might give me money for it. Agents or publishers. But when a generic recruiting letter is an offer to crew on a nuclear submarine, deffiinitions get looser.
