Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Discussion Topic

[NES Boy]

Talk about the new game here! It was announced in Nintendo's E3 2003 page (http://www.nintendo.com/e32k3/). Here are the features:

Returning Characters:
Mario
Luigi
Peach
Bowser
Yoshi
Wario
Donkey Kong
Koopa (first time since Super Mario Kart)
New Characters:
Baby Mario
Baby Luigi (first appearance since Yoshi's Island)
Birdo
Daisy
Waluigi
Diddy Kong (Nintendo FINALLY put him in a Mario game)
Bowser Jr.
Paratroopa
Features:
Two characters per kart (one driving and one handling items)
Character have their own personalized karts
LAN capabilities

I don't like the idea of putting two people on each Kart at all. I don't know why they can't just put one person on a Kart and have twice as many playable characters. I also don't like the way the cars look in the E3 pictures, I liked the go-kart look.

But if it's even half as good as Mario Kart 64 it's still gonna rule.

I think it's the first promising mario kart game since the original. This one looks damned good... the only thing I want to know is whether or not it's going to have "Battle Mode" in it or not. But yeah, this very well might be the first game I buy for the Gamecube. That or possibly the upcoming MUSCLE game.

I always picked him on the N64 one. It just seemed like he was the best. I beat everyone with him. I hope he's the best in this one too.

The battle in the n64 one seemed to suck to me. The snes one was fuckin rad though.

Yea, those new cars aren't what I am used to seeing, but they actually petain to the people who are in them, like Donkey Kong and the barrel car. I'm probably going to rent it, if not buy it. I'll have to see if they have a battle mode though...

I'm glad they put Koopa back in the game. He was the best fucking character in the original Mario Kart... can't believe they replaced him with fucking Wario on the gameboy version. >:

I always play as Wario. I can beat ANYONE with Wario.

I don't know why Mario Kart 64 is so popular at my school. Everyone plays it. :(

The original Mario Kart had the best battle mode but I wasn't disappointed with Mario Kart 64 at all. It was a great game. All the crazy shortcuts too.

The new Mario Kart will be good, can't wait.

We used to bet money on mario cart. My friend got over 200 bucks one time. I have a feeling I'm gonna win and lose alot of money in this game. I also think that they should have an online game with it. Because gamecube really needs some online games to boost sales.

Why no Toad?? Koopa and Toad were always the best on the original. I always used Yoshi on Mario Kart 64.

I'm also part of the wario camp. I damn near always pick him and have since the game first came out. I love the mario kart games.

Word to the wise: Don't play mario kart or golf while drunk or your friends will make fun of your frustration :(

what game is that? I never heard anything about a GB Smash Brothers or anything...If you read the small text under the sig pic, you'll notice that it's from Starmen.net. They have this section for edited screenshots for Mother and Earthbound (mostly Earthbound) called "Flukes", and that pic's in them. Also look for a BTTF tribute called "Bound to the Future", with Dr. Andonuts as Doc.

Anyway, I can't wait for this game to come out. New karts, the new item system, the return of Koopa, and DIDDY!!!
