...you'll fucking love Rick Wakeman

YES! keyboarder, I caught his gig on Saturday (for free... the only catch was working for 6 hours of loading and unloading gear at the venue for a mere £7 an hour. We were there till midnight. Sheesh.

Anyway, I can't believe how disturbingly listenable his music was! Most of the bands I see totally suck if you don't know all their songs, but this was different. Just sit back and take in the synthy atmosphere! And guitar solos too! and a drum solo that must have gone on for ten minutes!!

For now, there is a new god of music.

edit: doh! Yes, Rick Wakeman. For definite. Not Rock Wakeman... sounds like some cheesy nu-metal and or something.

Why do you toy with me. . .

ROCK WAKEMAN IS THE HOLY GRAIL

. . .and Grail quests always end badly. . .

Unless you mean Rick Wakeman, I can't find any mention of this guy anywhere in the real world, although I haven't looked online yet.

Rick Wakeman is from Yes, right? I liked his stuff on Close to the Edge and Fragile. But Tales of Topographic Oceans sucks hemoroids.

Wakeman is GOD on the keyboard. Seeing footage of him playing with one hand and a paint roller proves it. Chris Squire is an old idol of mine since that's my primary instrument. Gnarly tone.
