'N Korea Has 100 Nukes Aimed At US'
North Korea has at least 100 nuclear missiles aimed at the United States and will use them if new economic sanctions are imposed against it, a spokesman claims.Kim Myong Chol, who styles himself executive director of the Centre for Korea-American Peace said: "It's quite obvious North Korea may have minimum 100 nuclear warheads, maximum 300.
"They all lock onto American cities."
Kim, who goes under the title "unofficial spokesman for North Korea", was speaking in a recorded interview on Australia's Channel Nine Network.
He claimed the weapons had been made before Pyongyang's non-proliferation agreement with the adminstration of former US president Bill Clinton in 1994.
'Economic sanctions'
Kim added that the nuclear technology used to produce the missiles had been tested in Pakistan, a claim which Islamabad has denied.
They did not therefore breach international agreements, he maintained.
Kim was asked if North Korea intended to use the weapons if the US did not give in to its diplomatic and economic demands.
"If the US attacks North Korea, North Korea will definitely use those nuclear weapons against the US mainland," he replied.
"North Korea will use those nuclear weapons against the US mainland if America imposes additional economic sanctions on North Korea."
Pure Heroin
He also rejected a charge by Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer last week that an official of North Korea's ruling political party was aboard a North Korean ship accused of smuggling heroin to Australia.
The freighter, Pong Su, was boarded and seized by Australian special forces troops on April 20 after a chase that began when it allegedly unloaded the drugs off southeastern Australia five days earlier.
Some 26 North Korean crew remain in custody, charged with helping to import 110 pounds of pure heroin into Australia.
"I'm afraid the Australian Foreign Minister is entirely wrong," Kim said.

It's a good thing that they still make school desks A-Bomb resistant. ;)

At one of the highschools around here, they have some sort of code where they all go to the gym if there is a nuclear attack. This is so that when the nukes hit, they can find all the bodies together :).

My old high school had a bomb shelter. Product of the sixties. Just about the only good thing about that dump too... >:

Since official Korean spokespeople are given to extreme hyperbole and the article (again, crappy journalism) doesn't say if this guys an actual North Korean citizen, let alone if he has ANY ties at all to the North Korean government, I would take this with many, many, many, many grains of salt.
If it were evn half way close to true, North Korea would be trumpetting this fact from the roof tops, as that many nuclear ICBM's would truly be an effective deterent.

besides, they need an effective carrier system to reach the contiguous U.S., something that i don't believe they have.

We need to bomb their nuclear facilities sooner rather than later.
Secondly, the statements in this article are completely outragous.

I think Ronnie is right.
The south Koreans will just have to live with the consequences. But only for about five minutes, so what's the big deal?

I'm still confused as to why North Korea hates us. We gave them Starcraft, and this is how they repay us? >:
Besides, I think its impossible for North Korea to nuke the U.S. The only place the nuke would hit would be California.

You don't exactly have a good track record of predicting military events.
I doubt the North would even respond. If they did, they would have to know that it would be the end of their regime considering the fact that there is no way for them to win.

Ronnie, please make sure that your brain is engaged before putting your mouth in gear.
You said that the U.S. should start bombing N. Korean nuclear facilities, and then Burbank said that you were right, but the South Koreans would have to live with the consequences.
But if it gets to the stage where the U.S. is attacking N. Korean, don't you think that the people in charge there would see the end of their regime coming already? I mean, would the U.S. honestly just blow up the reactors and say, "Okay, we've done our job here." I don't think so, especially not with Bush's sabre-rattling and the show of force in Iraq.
If North Korea is attacked they will most definitely use their nuclear weapons, and the only place around there that they could effectively hit with a low chance of the missile being shot down is just a few hundred miles south.
I'm pretty sure that they'll want to go out with a bang.

I think I may be in agreement with Ronnie on this one.
I think it was right that Israel blew up that French made nuke plant in Iraq, and I think it would be justified here as well. As long as we can protect the S. Koreans, which may be a tall order, but I think it's essential.
N. Korea is clearly not just threatening us, they are threatening the entire world. The likewise clearly don't intend to use the plant to power their country, cuz when has Kim ever cared about his country..?
I do think we can thank W for this proliferation on the part of the N. Koreans, but whatever, we need to protect people now.

where is General MacCarthy when you need him
I believe the Koreans prolly have nukes, however 300? Not in a fucking lifetime.
About the present President stirring things up: this has always been a korean tactic. He learned it from his dad. At the time we saw that offensive action might be taken against Irak he started yelling about Koreas right too have nukes. I dont believe the country is neither as military nor as expantional as their President may try to portray them.
The best would be to bomb the shit out of them before they can do it to the U.S. N.Korea is a totaliarian regime comparable to Nazi Germani. They arent afraid of shit. The country is more closed of from western philisophies and information then Iraq ever was. The people are brainwashed and the rulers are complete assholes. They need to be exterminated. :imock
I dont like Gorge politics, I dont like Americans way of imposing their ideas on everyone else. But N. Korea is a threat to world piece.

Considering your username, I would expect you to post arguments based upon rationalization, not instinct. You, like snake, can take your ignorance and post somewhere the less educated may appreciate your "insights."
