Just saw the new direct feed video of the Doom III trailer from E3. Goddamn, this game looks fucking incredible. And the sounds/music are just awesome. Reznor needs to put out a new album damnit.

Good and Bad news...

Trent Reznor is no longer involved with ID software's Doom3 project. The length of time needed to complete the gaming project has taken longer than expected. Reznor is now working full-time on the next NIN record and word is that recording is going very well. Stay tuned!

To clarify... Trent's music/sound will not be available for release in the retail game or in any further game demos.

Damn, so none of those sounds are from him? Cuz some of the shit in the trailer sounded exactly like his style of work. If it's not him, I'd like to know who it is... cuz it definitely sounds good. Glad he's working on the new album though, cuz the Fragile is one of the most perfect sounding recordings ever.

Yeah, I've been looking forward to it ever since the first screenshots. It looks to be one of the best games in years. The graphics are incredible and the idea of being tossed into that atmosphere...Well, there's a good chance I'll hide in a dark corner and shoot anything that moves.

They have some alpha version floating around, but supposedly it runs so choppy, even on top of the line videocards, that it was pretty hard to get a good feel for it :( I have a feeling I will need a better video card to play this game the way I want.

whereabouts did you find this video of the DOOM III?

It was on gamespot I think. ZS had a premium account though so I could login and see it, so I don't think you can view it without one. Wouldn't surprise me if it's elsewhere on the web for download though...

I wasn't whining. They were talking about Doom III, and this is about Doom III. I also think it's funny, and it has nothing to do with whether or not I like the game.

So can you please go take some Midol? You can bitch and moan about this and that all you like. Meanwhile, I'll be playing FFX-2 (and maybe Doom III) when it comes out, and having fun.

Anyway, I really don't need to defend myself against one complaint and one comment taken out of context. How about you stop whining about everything, and let's start talking about Doom III again? k? k.

First-person Shooters have never really been my favorite kind of game. But for Doom III, I'd gladly make an exception, and maybe even get an X-Box for, down the line.

I don't believe that about Trent Reznor no longer working on the sounds of Doom 3. Even the most recent coverage of E3 that I've seen still mentions that he's the guy behind the sound.

I saw a journalist not so long ago saying that DoomIII had Reznor with them on E3 and that the sound was fucking incredible. They are developing a completely new sound system with him.

Reznor was one of the reasons this game is going to be fucking incredible. I sure as hell hope they still got him on board.

A new NIN album would make me happy too, there is a note inside "and all that could have been" DVD saying that this is the last of NIN. Im not surprised if we hear more from Trent Reznor though....

I know this topic is a bit old, but here goes:

I have played the 'leaked alpha' of Doom III. As far as I can tell, there was no music in the background but the sound effects were VERY NINish. Even though it is an alpha, I was only able to pump out at least 3 fps during in-game action. It'll kind of suck though since Trent won't work for Doom now, his work on Quake was PERFECT.
