Where in the US should I go?

I am supposed to make raod trip with my parents to california to pick up my sister, but I will be flying back since they have free tickets that expire. Instead of flying straight back to Texas, I think I would like to go to some random place and walk around or rent a car for a day, check out some sights, sleep and the rental car or airport then fly home.

Where should I go?

I dont think vegas would be that great for me. Especially since I dont want to gamble away my savings and dont do drugs, or drink, and I dont think whores are my thing, not yet at least ...so I dont think vegas would be that much fun alone.

I was in SF last summer and it is great but it seems like kinda a waste of a ticket to fly from LA to SF :/

I can go anywhere southwest flies and I think they east coast now too. But I am almost positive it is limited to continental US.

And yea I need to see a bunch of really shitty tourist attractions :)

Been to nyc but I think it is worth considering. Been to New orleans too.

I think I am leaning more towards the east coast so I can go from one side of the country to the other, get the most out of my free plane tickets.
