I used to work at starbucks. It is not a bad job- it has good benefits. You just have to put up with coffeeshop customers. You also have to put with self-righteous lefties calling you a sellout and then giving you a "power" crystal.
If you want to make it fun, steal shit. Cause they have some nice stuff that's really overpriced.
Also you could ejaculate in the frappucino mix.

Ya' see... I'd never steal.
I'd jerk it into someones Breve' Latte', but I'd never steal.

Bring some brown to work and sprinkle it on the moccachino. See if anyone notices the extra tang.

nothing could be more fun than the very opportunity to handle such fine coffees and serve the class of people starbucks caters to.

i would suggest sliting your own throat in porotest of how horrible starbucks is, prefferbly while working. Or since thats a tad much, you could always just slit someone elses.
mmm... fun

My friend's mommy works at Starbucks and she likes it and gives me free drinks. :(

Yep.

I think you'd be much better off working at a ma and pa coffeeshop where people are actually hip enough to pull off the self righteous asshole bit.
Watch out for the "subversives" though, i hear that they bathe infrequently.

My problem is I want to work for a ma & pa place.
I have Nearly a decade of experience in Kitchens, barista work, & Customer service. They see chef, banquet manager (spelled properly too) and they ask why?
I hate to tell them over a year ago my life was torn apart, & I had 3 nervous break downs between 1/20/02-11/08/02.
Why did you move back to the Pacific NW?
Uh... My stepmother, Grandma, & Dead mothers brother are about to die of compleatly diffrent things...
So I work for starbucks so they can tell there stockholders, & the public they have qualified people working in there stores, & not just a bunch of braid dead teens...
Damn I want out of food service, but I live in an area that has 9.1 percent unimployment... Damn I hate portland!

Yep.

That sounds rough man. :(
Do what you gotta do to put your life back together.
Get a job with an airline or a hotel- if that's even possible anymore-and go travel, get the fuck out of portland.

Ma & Pa type stores suck ass. I should know because I work at one. You usually have to put up with the asshole kids of the parents who own the place and watch them get paid twice as much as you get for half the work.

Not to mention they get to come and go as they please, give me all the shitty jobs and then bitch about how my attitude is bad.

I need a new job. :(

Or.

You could kill them, flay their body, and make a suit out of them.

Their parents would be none the wiser, and you'd get your $10 an hour.

It's a win/win situation.

Funny thing is I left Phoenix to get away from my ex-, I left a place where I was selling art, & was making money hand over fist.
But if I stayed there she'd just make my life hell, & keep going back to her. So I moved back to portland to be with all my old friends , & family to find most of my friends have moved, & most of my family is dieing...
Oh what fun it is to be me, odd to say but I-Mockery is one of the few things that makes my life just a little bit better...
-Thanks ~RoG~

Wouldn't that be a bland flavor?

I think you should put your own "cream" in their drinks like Yep said. :(

I hope it works out. :(

Starbucks is popular because it IS GOOD COFFEE. This is not my opinion. This is a fact.
It's a really simple formula. A person is given a choice. Often the majority favors a particular choice. That choice becomes popular. It ain't rocket science.
I hate people who go against the flow just to be cool. "HAR HAR! Starbucks sucks! Down with corporate America!"

Anyway, my wife works at Starbucks. She just put in her two weeks... Not because she hated the place or anything, it's just that she's like a nomad when it comes to employment. Always moving on to the next big thing. I liked it when she worked there. She met some cool people, got decent wages and a ton of free coffee. Only bad thing was the sporadic hours.
