They were showing it for a midnight movie so a bunch of us went to see it. That was easily one of the craziest movie crowds I've ever been a part of. Damned good time, and all for only 3 bux!

The theater owner even got up on the stage before the movie started, so he could announce the upcoming movies (like "The Princess Bride") and then he goes, "since 400 of you people showed up..." and then he proceeded to do the truffle shuffle! The crowd was yelling and shit through the entire movie, and I made sure to yell "YOU GOONIE!!!!!!!!!!" during the Troy's Bucket scene.

Now I'm really tempted to go to the Princess Bride next weekend...

you should. we once had a theater around here that did things like that. on occasion, the owner would play both Evil Deads and Army of Darkness back to back (with free admission if you dressed as a Deadite) or have Bruce Lee movies running from 6 pm to 6 am. then someone shot him and a gas station went up where his theater used to be. it's not nearly as fun going there anymore.

I saw the Shining in the theatre, and that was a great crowd :(

I'm very jealous you saw Goonies, that has to be one of the most perfect movies ever made. Princess Bride is another, you just can't find anything mean to say about it.

The problem with seeing the Princess Bride with a group like that is that a lot of people show up wearing capes and have to recite EVERY FUCKING LINE of the movie (wrongly and off-timing, I might add) which really kind of annoys me.

The best midnight movie I saw at that same theater was the Breakfast Club. People were yelling all kinds of crazy shit at the screen, it was hilarious. I feel sorry for anyone who had never seen the movie before, because they wouldn't have heard half the dialogue...but really, who hasn't seen The Breakfast Club?

Wow, the fucking Goonies. :love
The movie place here shows about 5 movies, but the one farther away shows about 20. There are no old movies showing here at all, and the DVD is priced at 25 bucks, which is too much for a single DVD. I am dying to see Chunk do the truffle shuffle again.
I also want to see the crazy inventions that Data makes.

I am going to get that DVD.

Proto, I still can't believe you and Jaeger skipped out on seeing the Goonies (and Paul's birthday) for a fucking game of D&D.

I am going to get that DVD.

The DVD is worth the $ for THIS ALONE (http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/cyndi-goonies). The movie and deleted scenes are just bonuses in my eyes.

I had people coming in from out of town to play and it was too late to reschedule. And it's not like I had any coolness points anyway. :rolleyes

Oh, shit. If they ever have a special viewing of Goonies at the old theater here, I would bring a bagful of mini Baby Ruth and toss it around during the "I love you, Chunk" scene. That would be crazy.

That's awesome, Proto. D&D is a great excuse for skipping out out of things. :)

Anyways, Mock, don't worry. Proto is planning to get everyone together next week to see Princess Bride. It's gonna take a lot of people to fill out that Andre the Giant costume.

I wish I lived in coolville :(. All the movies that shouldn't be playing at a theater are crappy movies for the youngins like Pochahantas, or the live action rendition of Pinocho. You guys are so lucky :tear.

Indeed whoreable.

"There are two types of people in this world- those who find strangers with candy funny and those who don't. And I cannot be friends with you if you don't."

From a customer review for the new DVD on amazon. It's true. :)

I watched the episode "is my daddy crazy" a few days ago. I forgot all about the pizzamania scene.

That scene is perhaps the greatest tv moment. ever.

Fuck that noise. I was planning on going to the party later that night but I was too tired, and I had guests over. :(

When Strangers with Candy was on, I was too young to get it. Now that I'm older, I decided to watch it again, just to see if I still hated it or not. I actually really liked it and now that it's off the air I can't watch more than three episodes at a time :(. If you are asking yourself how he can watch it, I have digital cable and I-control on demand. Comedy Central on demand is free. But I can't watch any more episodes. I saw the one where Jerri is assigned a baby to take care of and she has to get a partner to take care of the baby because she can't handle the responsibilty on her own. This show made my laugh ALOT, I mean ALOT. I want to see more episodes. >:

I think it has something to do with Mockery mentioning a "Strangers With Candy" dvd with a "picture hint". If you did not pick up on this, then you do not know the show, as that was obviously Jerri's hair we were seeing from behind.
