My dad found her decomposing body this morning. She was 17. She lived a long, hard life, but a good one. Rest in peace, girl. :(

I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps this song can help you deal with the pain (http://www.boobiesandblood.com/MP3/Hulk%20Hogan%20&%20The%20Wrestling%20Boot%20Band%20-%20Hulkster%20In%20Heaven.mp3)

I'm sorry to hear that, Erin. It's difficult to lose a pet that's been a part of your life for that long. PM me if you want to talk about it or anything. :(

It's so hard when you lose a close animal friend. I deeply sympathize. My dog Beige died of an enlarged liver when I was 13 and I still miss him :tear

I'm sorry your cat died. Be thankful your kitty lived a full life, though.
Mine died when he was only five. He just fell over and started crying out in pain, and he couldn't get back up. His back legs wouldn't work. My parents rushed him to the animal hospital, while I cried in my room, scared.
He ended up having a blood clot that made its way into his heart. And he had to be put down to spare him any more pain.
So I know how you feel. I can only hope that your cat's long life helps you brace yourself for this, and you'll feel better soon.

Sorry to hear that, Miss M. Are you gonna get a new one now though? I miss having cats... if I ever move into a house, I'm definitely gonna get one.
I still want to get a large aquarium setup again. I haven't had any pets in a long time. :/

We probably won't get another cat unless it's second hand (like this cat was), because my parents don't want the burden of housebreaking it. We've been mulling over the idea getting another dog, though, and my Grandma has offered to take care of it. Which is a good sign. Our Basset Hound had to be put to sleep a few years ago, and I'd like to have a dog in the house again.

I reccomend getting a ferret. They are very underrated as pets.

Sorry about your loss. :( My cat, Schmitten (don't ask), just came back from a six day excursion to who knows where. As I live out in the sticks, I'm used to her crazy little jaunts every now and again when she gets a wild cat hair up her butt (she's fixed) but six days is over the top for her and I was beginning to get worried. Anyway, she triumphantly returned rubbing against my legs to annoyance and meowing her great adventure. :) I wish I spoke cat! >:

I do agree with what Jeanette said about ferrets, I had one and they do make amazing pets.

Of course, before you purchase another pet, you should take some time to grieve and come to terms with the fact that your cat is gone. :(

Sorry about your cat. :(
My dog almost died once when he was hit by a car. He is a Chihuahua, and he only weighed 7 pounds at the time.

I know how hard it was for me to lose a cat, so I will tell some jokes, modified to make them appropriate.
how do you unload a hundred kittens from a pickup truck?
with a pitchfork.
why don't they make bunkers out of kittens?
cause when you stuff a kitten in a sandbag, it won't shut up!
how do you get a kitten out from under your car?
blow it in place
what do you call a cat that is on fire?
lunch
what's better than sex with a 9 lb cat?
sex with her kittens
what's better than that?
post-microwave-kitten sex
hey, what's that smell?
you know.
