I am watching "Leon: The Professional" (it was simply called "The Professional in its American release) right now, this is the 21st time I've watched it. It is so cool i cry sometimes.

I had a b&w 8x10 of Mathilda (Natalie Portman) sitting with a stuffed bunny and pointing a gun at the camera but i lost it :tear

Yeah, good movie but made me feel uneasy a few times. I hear the foreign edition's better.

The "Uncut International Version" is better, it goes deeper into the whole Leon-Mathilda relationship. Why does it make you uneasy?

I don't know... 12 year old girls wanting to sleep with grown men just does I guess.

Leon is an awesome movie. And the unsavoriness of the Matilda/Leon relationship is hugely exaggerated. If there's meant to be love there it's purely emotional, and aside from Matilda shooting Leon an awkwardly seductive look and telling a landlord that he's her "lover", there's nothing but a kind of naive romance.

I agree. The Leon/Mathilda relationship is one of the most geniunely moving relationships I have seen in movies. There's a lot of affection going on, and it's treated very soberly. The political incorectness about the situation isn't polished down, neither is the whole thing exaggerated for shock effect.

It's a really good film, but I sold my DVD away. Not quite rewatchable.

Spoiler for those who haven't seen the international version

In the international version Mathilda asks Leon to be "her first". He declines and Mathilda almost kills her self.

Are you sure that's not just a stupid rumor? I've seen the movie several times and I wouldn't know why they'd air the American version in the Netherlands, plus that sounds like it would totally clash with the rest of the movie.

I'd want Jean Reno to be my first too. :(
