I too have their first three albums. It's good poppy stuff, and enough songs about unrequited love for me to have identified with them as a faggy fag fag girly girl teenager who was afraid of TEH GIRALS. :(

Good stuff though. Haven't heard anything after "Dookie" except a song or two on the radio.

Mike Dirnt is a pretty damn good bass player. The album after Dookie (Insomniac?) was also pretty decent. That one with "Time of Your Life" was really quite shitty, though.

This thread reminded me of the Green Day show at the Esplanade in Boston that I went to back in 1994. It was free and the park was packed with people from the charles river to storrow drive. Green day only played few songs until some people started throwing beer bottles toward the stage and the band decided to call it quits. Billy Joe jumped off the stage, started picking out plants and threw it to the crowd. While he was trying to get back onto the stage, the cops were pulling him back as if he was a fan. The riot, then started and there was chaos all over. I got kicked in the face few times. It was great!

Yeah, they do suck. Same repetitive chords and crappy singing like all the other shit punk bands. This is only my opinion, however.

I like Green Day but their latest stuff sucks. 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk were the highlight of their career.

Their last album that was real good was Insomniac. Nimrod even had some decent songs on it. Warning was upsetting.
