It's dumb when people go to shows just for the mosh pit, even when it's bands like nine inch nails, tool or indigo girls playing. Anyway, my favorite bands to mosh to are Black Flag, old Sepultura, Tree and Vision of Disorder.

Oh yeah, and Cannibal Corpse, too. They make me wanna go out and mosh like a fucking demon in hell.

I'm the guy who stands/sits and appreciates the music quietly by himself. Yeah, that guy. Don't confuse me with "That Guy", I've never been "That Guy" and never plan to be.

Yeah...

I just listen to the music, I've never been to a show...

That may change when I get a car...

My fav bands to mosh too are Soulfly and Superjoint Ritual. Cannible corpse is good, incantation was better. Hatebreed pits are fun as hell, and I actually rember drowning pool ahving a pretty fun pit. Most violent though are the death metal opening bands that have like 10 fans that just want to kill each other. I'm only 6 ft 180 so i get thrown around a lot by them. i once was in an Adema pit, and i basically cleared the fucker, and im normally the small guy. that was fucking hilarious.

This was the most disjointed post EVER!!!!! But im not editing cuz its all words of wisdom.

I remember seeing the Rollins Band on a pro football field during the hardcore festival. That was one massive pit...down from the stage at the goal line to the 50 yard line. Henry Rollins came onto the stage wearing nothing but the trademark black shorts and was showing off his tattoo of a sun. He picked up his right foot and stomped it to the ground while bending down to scream into the mic as the band started playing. the field just exploded and everyone started going at it. As the band kept on playing, the moshing grew heavier despite the 100 degree weather. Without a doubt the biggest one I've ever gotten trapped into.

drowning pool has a song about moshing dont they? offspring had a song about moshing, too.

If you haven't moshed to thrash metal like Nuclear Assault or Exodus, you don't know what moshing is.

Moshing is just useless. There's always too many jackasses in the pits. Nowadays on the rare occasion that I bother to go to a show, I always end up being the guy who helps protect the younger and/or smaller people at the show from getting kicked in the head by some wildly flailing idiot.

On the rare occasion I actually go to a show or actually choose to watch them from the pit instead of backstage, if it's good enough I've got nothing against going in the pit and beating up all the kids. T-shirt, plain combats and a shaved head beats silly hair, silly baggy pants and a silly wallet chain any day.

I get my money's worth, I go up in the front to watch the band, rather than get my teeth kicked in.

I don't know if they still do this anymore, but so they still sell moshing tickets? It's like VIPs and you can't mosh if you don't have them. Outrageously priced and quite the bullshit concept. Wouldn't they just get torn off anyway?

When I go to see Mudvayne & Metallica I'm squeezing my way to the front. Might be hard in a tightly packed dome, but at least it's A/Ced. The last Summer Sanatarium was at a racetrack in St. Louis. Hell on Earth.

It is the moshers that flail around like a goddamn berserker that piss me off. They lose all perception of what they are doing and who is around them. Exceedingly violent and completely unnecessary. >:

"My fav bands to mosh too are Soulfly"

Those christians are a local band here, I went to one of there shows for some reason. It wasn't a pit, it was just the whole crowd moshing. I got knocked down too many times to remeber the next act on the bill. I didn't mind it too much, I rather everyone moshing than that hardcore dancing that some people try to pull off.

I also went to see Meshuggah open up for tool once and when tool started playing all these people with glow sticks started dancing... I hated tool even more after that show.

The Femmes have a moshpit song. :rock

I love to mosh, but I tend to do it in as nice a way as possible. I usually mosh at a punk venue in downtown Indy. I'm the guy that makes sure that people don't crack their skulls coming down from crowd surfing.

While we're on the subject of the Femmes, did they EVER make a good album after the first one?

Or, it could be none of them.
