SNES is my favorite, but the NES started a revolution, and it's greatness can't be ignored. So many classics. :love

Does an Amiga 1200 with an AGA chipset count? I'd have to cop out with CD32. Anyway, best pixel art on it's games than on any other system to date, and that's saying something. It's been 10 years, and the Japaniese can't catch up to Amiga Scene artwork. And some of the games ruled as far as gameplay goes. Shadow of the Beast, Flashback, Lost Vikings, Moonstone. Ah, the memories.

while snes is great the gba is riding on it's coat tails with a lot of re-released classic from the snes with extra features. so it's a hard call for me, the portability or the brick layer...

NES. It had too many awesome games and it really did start a gaming craze like no other. It was just the perfect time to be around video games. Just like they say, "the golden age of video gaming"

my most fond memories were of the nes. but if we're going by how often i was just flat out in awe of something in a game, i'd have to say snes. man. the first time i played cv4 was magic. o..o

Genesis. Sonic, MK series with full gore, and countless gory games that the snes would never have.

SNES comes in a very close second for me.

NES is definately right up there, I grew up on it. The SNES took me through some of the best gaming ever though.

If it wasn't for the NES, video games might not exist right now. There's a reason they had to call it the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America :/

But the SNES was just better for me. Plus, the NES had more shitty games. Although that is extremely debatable :(

I've got two words: Game gear.

I actually had one of these. I sold my NES to get it - and for like two years I was king of the playground. I used to do these 11 hour car trips to Manitoba across Saskatchewan (think sea of grain - for 11 flippin' hours) and Mortal Kombat saved my life. Then I stole my friend's SNES and never looked back. I defy anyone to beat the sheer homicidal urges after being caught by E. Honda's 10000 bitchslap technique.

Man, you guys ever get to play a Nomad? Those lil things are great. Just plug in any old genesis game and like 12 AA batteries adn you're set for any road trip you might have.

Shit - the Nomad! that's as old-skool as the Atari Jaguar. Does anyone remember the Jaguar? I'd love to know about it - it was this sort of mystical object in the game store - look, don't touch.

the nomad was awesome. i just wish it wasn't so rare and expensive or i'd totally have bought one. :(

the jaguar sucks. worst use of available technology ever. :/

No way man .. I was like 7 when Atari came out. That system was like a god to every kid in the neighborhood. The programmers had some serious skill to make attention grabbing games with only like 16-30k of programming space.

Its just a generational issue. Youre too young to know of a world without cable tv or gaming systems that were drag ass mules.

So true, so true. NES was one of the best gaming systems and was one of the only things that could have possibly stopped the gaming crash, and video games very well could have been a thing of the past if it wasn't for it, but I grew up on SNES and just can't get enough of it even now. SNES just seems like a better system to me, although NES had all the classics. SNES is the best, but NES is in a VERY close second.

for me it was the SNES. i was about 6 years when my brother got it and i just remember all this great games.. and now, 14 years later, i still like playing it.

i never had a link to the NES because it wasent very popular in germany and there were not many games

the best snes games is "tales of phantasia"

i just cann tell ya "play it"!

And if you faggots say it isnt a system I'll say a) Shut up. b) Super Nintendo

A computer isn't a system retard. It does have a system called an operating system though. So that would be acceptable. >:

It has to go to Playstation 2 (since it can play Playstation One games) or Super Nintendo.

SNES hands down. I was about 6 when we first got our SNES for christmas, I remember tearing open the box and being confused. It was my first encounter with a console of any kind. I remember not liking Mario the first time I played it but the second I tore it out of the console and slammed Link to the past in there I was fucking sold! Being 6 years old and having the capability to read was awesome for me, I ate up the story from the get go.

NES

What its NOT is the original Gameboy. I never saw the appeal of that goddam thing. Sickly green color screen that you couldn't see anything on, piss poor games, and it ate batteries like Sally Struthers eats...well anything.
