You know two of the very few groups who resisted Hitler were the Communists and Jehova's Witnesses? The JWs distributed literature detailing Nazi atrocities to peoples' mailboxes and the Pinkos engaged in gunfights in the street with SS troops. The Pope meanwhile signed a pact with the Hooked Crossers to make sure Catholics could still go to Church. Otherwise, with a few exceptions (Josef spieker) Christians took it up the ass. German Protestants divided into two branches, the larger of which was the German Christian Movement, which had kids dress up in Hitler Youth uniforms for confirmation (that's the thing kids do in church right? confirmation it's called? i don't remember). You probably wonder why I'm talking about this. Listen, Hitler didn't kill millions of people or build tanks. The German people did. And they weren't evil like him. Seriously, whereas Hitler was a histrionic psycho, the people who actually carried out the Haulocaust and the war were by and large what you call normal folks. See that nice old lay on your street? You think she'll spit in the dictator's face when he takes power? Normalcy is corruption. The human race asks, "who's got my back?" If a tear comes to your eye when you think of apple pie and those brave boys who put their lives on the line for our godgiven rights, you're not trustworthy. The government's a parasite. But I won't get into that. Perfection is a virus. Heaven infests the earth. There's no such thing as perfection or immortality. The universe- you know, REality- is a rough, untidy, asymmetric, changing thing, and we'd be doing ourselves a favor if we accepted that. There was no original sin, humans are no more flawed than badgers or tapeworms. Perfection is our corruption. From heaven to Hollywood, the Thousand Year Reich to the American Dream, utopia or stardom, we jerk off to delusions our entire lives. Unwilling to make an attempt to understand the actual world we live in, we just let things atrophy while we wait for Jesus. And science? Its raison d'etre is to eradicate disease, turn the planet into a perfectly managed farm, colonize the universe, cure all our problems and give us robots to do our chores. Life is dirty, okay? Struggle, competition, fatigue, sadness, death, these things define beauty, love, happiness, accomplishment, etc. A puppy is just an organism bent on propogating its species. It's the horrors of life that turn that puppy into something cute. And my point is, the horrors would be less horrible if we accpeted them and took pragmatic, well-thought out steps towards improving things, rather than gazing at the commercials, the propoganda posters, the charismatic madman telling us to blow ourselves up, dreaming of a paradise with maidens awaiting us, dreaming of a life of fulfillment with a sexy car, dreaming of perfection, delusions! Baleful, pernicious wickedness comes to earth in the form of regular folks just doin' the will of the lord, just playin' the game. For 3 million years there was no "salvation" no heaven or hell just us humans and our forests and the rythms of life. For ten thousand years we think we're the center of creation and we're about to destroy what may be the only living planet in the universe. There may be no hope because pandora's box was open when we created nukes and at this point we could probably pop this globe like a flimsy bubble; but why focus on the bad part? If you need to walk from one side of the room to the other, don't take the elevator upstairs.
