This story is about 14 minutes old.

So what do you think? Will this story turn out to be

A.) True.

B.) False, but not utterly unfounded. The two sons will have been in the area, or connected in some way with Iraqis we killed.

C.) Utterly False. A totally bad tip either hoping for reward money or to extract revenge or just to fuck with army or no tip at all and dead Iraqis all look the same to us.

D.) A damn lie, like some of the WMD 'smoking guns' that were thrown to the press during the early days of the war.

I'm still waiting for the fabled WMD's to appear....

Saddam has body doubles, so can the sons. Lets keep the champaigne corked for a while.

They are 90-95% sure the bodies are the sons. SO there is 1 in 10 chance that one of them may have been roomates with one of the sons in college. I do hope it is them though, the world is much better place without them in it.

"We are certain that Odai and Qusai were killed today," said Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez at a news conference in Baghdad. "The bodies were in such a condition where you could identify them."

Aside from the fact Vinth taught this guy his sentence structure, weren't they going to wait on DNA or dental records or something before going on record that Oddie and Coozy were croaked?

I mean, if it turns out this wasn't them, we sure are going to look more stupider.

DNA samples just came out positive as of about seven minutes ago, if OSINT is to be believed.

It can be reasonably assured that it was them, unless of course you are as paranoid as I am, in which case you may still think the chances are 1 in 10.

I would have preferred they'd been taken alive personally, although I would still question their identities

I feel reasonably certain it was them at this point.

If you play some song on Abbey Road backwards it says "Turn me on deadman".

So they say.

If you play Dark Funeral forward, you'll hear songs about killing god.

I agree with rongi. Plus with all the "good" news we overlook that 2 US soldiers were killed on the same day. I think rejoicing in anybodies death is a bad idea. i think all our cheering is gonna come back and bite us in the ass. Let the crimes die with the men.

I know you guys are all political geniuses so:

wouldnt releasing the pictures of there dead bodies be violating the geneva convention?

would this be any thing like a political assasination?

I thought that only applied to POWs.

would this be any thing like a political assasination?
No such thing in a war.

Fucking Amen to that man....

In terms of a political Assasination I'm pretty much middle of the fence, I would like to think that they had a chance to give up--- Heh- like that would happen. I guess it breaks down to Dying on you're feet and putting in the good fight in the end, Dying by firing squad or whatever bullshit they got over there in the middle east (Bieng stoned to death, except with shoes?!)

Either way dead is dead, and frankly i can think of much better things to look at while im grabbing a bagel before work- Like say naked pictures of beautiful woman....

Unconfirmed as of now, but it seems the soldiers were killed in the first two attempts to ascend into the house. The third attempt was mostly just a barrage of weapon fire and missles.

I agree it would have been much more fun to take them alive, but I'm thinking they pretty much knew how standing their ground would turn out. I doubt capture would have been possible. I'm sure Otay and Qbert had convinced themselves they'd be hung or worse anyway, so I suppose their goal was to take as many Great Satan juniors with them as possible.

I do seem to remember a big stink being raised over the gory pics of dead or bloodied American soldiers being aired on Al Jazeera... Good to know bloodlust goes both ways and that hypocrisy is still alive and well...

The photos of Uday and Quassay were realeased to prove they were dead.

They were major leaders in a regime that still conducts guerilla attacks today. The point of releasing the photos was to tell the Iraqi people that they were safe. Although, we really don't need them all over the news.

It wasn't hypocritical at all.
