Anyone else here fallen in love with someone lately? What did you find yourself listening to while in the company with that person? What about while away from them? Also, were you recovering from a previous relationship? If so, how did that effect your listening habits? Here's what I can pick out from my current situation...

What I've been listening to while with Charlotte...

Simon & Garfunkel - Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, & Thyme and Bookends
Bright Eyes - Lifted...
Mountain Goats - All Hail West Texas (Also, the song "Going To Georgia", because that's just what we're going to do.)
Richard Youngs - Sapphie
Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun
The Hidden Cameras - The Smell Of Our Own
Beat Happening - You Turn Me On

And away from her...

Smell & Quim - Titwank
Izititiz - With Our With Jazz
Sunburned Hand Of The Man - Magnetic Drugs

Shitty music, because that's what my girlfriend likes, and I try to please her. Good Charlotte (shudder).

Have you tried, in a totally non-pushy way, to let her hear good stuff that seems up her alley? I've yet to fail to at least fill a new girlfriend up with enough good albums that she likes to never have to hear shitty stuff that she likes. In return, I try to keep my Masonna and Dead C stuff in check while she's around. I'm sure a compromise can easily be met.

We share next to nothing in common musically. There are a few bands, and we listen to them, but I mainly just let her listen to what she wants. You know how girls are.

Hmm... That's a shame. I can't imagine that. Scary.

Sometimes it is, like when she makes me listen to New Found Glory. I've tried to turn her on to my music, beginning with the more accessible stuff (Pixies), then moving to the more bizarre (Mr. Bungle, Boredoms), but she couldn't even take the Pixies. Oh well. I guess not everyone can recognize genius. I still love her.

I listen to a lot of Bjork, Radiohead, Weezer, Massive Attack, and Air with my girlfriend. I was listening to lots and lots of Wilco when I fell for her.

If Genius is Mr. Bungle/Boredoms/Pixies, fuck music. Don't try pushing your lame shit onto your girlfriend. Yeah, NFG and Good Charlotte suck, but I bet she just dosn't know any better.

PS - She probably thinks you're gay, now that you've made her listen to the Pixies.

Noob, remember yesterday when we were practicing not speaking? Why don't you show me what you've learned?

As a matter of fact, I do. Her name is Sam and she's lovely.
