BEST CONTROLLERS EVER :)

1. Xbox Type S - Fits your hand the way a vagina fits your dick
2. NES - Indestructible
3. SuperNes - Indestructible, More Buttons

WORST CONTROLLERS EVER >:

1. Sega Saturn 3D Contoller - Its a fucking CD player shaped controller! At Last!

2. NeoGeo Contoller - Only the best controllers are BIGGER THAN THE FUCKING SYSTEM

3. Tie - GameCube , Dreamcast and Playstation (1+2) - The only thing better that epeleptic siezures caused by video games is carpel tunnel syndrome - caused by shitty video game controllers.

The Xbox controller is a ripoff of the Dreamcast controller, you moron.

The xbox controller is like a morbidly obese version of the Dreamcast controller. If any xbox controller is fitting your hands perfectly, than you've got some meaty paws.

Best:

1. Gamecube - This is the most comfortable controller I've ever held. ESPECIALLY the Wavebird. Wireless, bitches.

2. Super Nintendo - The PS controller is just a rip-off of this, I don't care how many people try to tell me otherwise >:

3. Dreamcast - There are some things I hate about it (I, personally, don't like the cord coming out of the bottem), but some things I fucking love about it (triggers, holds two VMU cards, etc.)

Worst:

1. Nintendo 64 - It wasn't all that bad a layout or anything, but they lasted about 6 hours a piece. I went though so many N64 controllers that just "stopped working." And they weren't cheap either. Fucking Nintendo. >:

2. Playstation - This is just a blatant SNES controller ripoff, and I hate those fucking grips on it that make it look like a retarded bird.

I can't think of a third so bite me >:

The NES Advantage is the best controller ever as far as I'm concerned.

There's also this:

Blaze Twin Shock Arcade Joysticks

I bought this for my playstation a while ago (though mine is the limited edition black version with red buttons). The thing is friggin huge and it's perfect for anybody that enjoys standard arcade controls. I love this thing. :o

The Xbox controller is BASED on the Dreamcast controller? Holy shit professor!

I actually thought it was based on your mom

PS I said the Xbox controller S, not the original one. There is quite a difference between the two. Next time read my post properly before you try and flame me, homo >:

Best: Genesis 6 button, Microsoft sidewinder gamepad, SNES (I want to say NES but I think I just spent so many hours with it that my hands formed to fit its shape).

Worst: Playstation (those hulkster handlebars gotta go), N64, and any Atari 2600 joystick (first or third party)

Good :
Gamecube
NES
SNES
Genesis

Bad :

PS 1 and 2
Dreamcast

And all of the generic controllers fucking suck. They all hurt your hands. >:

That was kind of the point to begin with. :/

But still, I think the PS2 controller is the best controller of all time. It's not huge, and the button placement is perfect. The analog and pressure-sensitive controls are a nice touch too (I'm not sure if X-Box of Gamecube have them).

As for the handles, what's the big deal? You make it sound like it's the only one to have them. I prefer it, because you have a better grip on the controller. The SNES has a decent controller, but you were basically holding it by the fingertips.

BEST: PSX

WORST: PS2

>:

In all seriousness, Gamecube's is pretty damn comfortable, and I like how GameBoy Advance's button placement is farther apart than the old GameBoys.

I break buttons easily on Genesis controllers. I have about five of them with buttons pushed in and stuck. >: I go through N64 controllers like I go through toilet paper. >: And XBox has controllers that can be a fourth the fucking size and still accomodate all the fucking buttons. >:

timrpgland
Aug 11th, 2003, 10:26 AM
Best: Super Nintendo controller, hands down. The D-Pad is the best ever.

Worst: Original GBA. There should have been more buttons added and the placement is awkward.

Some people complain about the DC controller, but I like it. The L + R pads are the best.

Les Waste
Aug 11th, 2003, 11:38 AM
One thing about the Dreamcast controller that I think is both good and bad are the L and R triggers. Because when you naturally hold the controller, your fingers are on the triggers. That's great when you play a game where you're always using the triggers, but when you're playing a game where pushing L or R does something that you don't want to do 90 percent of the time, it's hard not to accidentally push the triggers cause your fingers are on them all the time.

timrpgland
Aug 11th, 2003, 11:59 AM
I haven't found myself having trouble with that. Normally I control which button I press ;)

The DC's joystick is also pretty good. Nice sensitivity and response. The D-Pad isn't that great though.

ROOKIE
Aug 12th, 2003, 09:52 PM
i find the default xbox and dreamcast controllers very awkward. my favorite controllers are psx/ps2, it's like you don't even have to hold the controller.

Krythor
Aug 13th, 2003, 01:51 PM
Am I the only person who feels that the main PSX buttons are too erm.. short? Especially the D-pad. It feels like I have to make an effort to press each button, whereas most Nintendo controllers have nice big chunky buttons that you don't have to think about too hard.

Sounds exaggerated, I know, but it bugs me.

Also: PSX analogue sucks. >:

soundtest
Aug 13th, 2003, 02:12 PM
The buttons are what I like least about PS controllers. I hate how the d-pad is 4 little buttons as opposed to a real d-pad. I'm not sure whether I prefer the standard NES type cross or the XBox d-pad that your thumb rests inside... depends on the game and whether precision or 'smooth' motions are required. But ew those 4 little arrow buttons hurt my feelings. The shoulder buttons and face buttons suck too. They're too thin. I actually like the PS analog sticks though.

Bennett
Aug 13th, 2003, 02:20 PM
The only controller that I always hated was the N-64, just because it was inefficient. You had to use either the d-pad or the analog stick, you couldn't use both in the same game without moving your hand off of the middle and to the other side of the controller... the later controllers got it right by having it next to the left thumbstick.

Krythor
Aug 13th, 2003, 04:09 PM
Although I agree that it's a silly area to place the D-pad, you never had to use it anyway... ever.

Bennett
Aug 13th, 2003, 04:31 PM
exactly my point, it was inefficient. you never had to use it because you never could.

I can't stand using a keyboard/mouse for first-person shooters. I know everyone always goes on about how the PC is so superior for them and such, but I seriously cannot aim when I'm using all ten of my digits for running, shooting and reloading. >:

Les Waste
Aug 13th, 2003, 06:32 PM
I can aim better in an FPS using a controller than I can with a keyboard and mouse, although it depends on the controller. I can aim a hell of a lot better using the Gamecube's analog stick and c stick and the R button to fire than I can with the keyboard and mouse.

whoreable
Aug 13th, 2003, 07:01 PM
There is no way in hell a controller is more accurate than a mouse. except maybe if the game "helps" you aim.

There is a reason no one uses a gamepad on the pc to play fps, and i have a feeling it is mostly becuase you would get destroyed by any real player using a keyboard and mouse.

Not to Get Off On A Rant Here, But Hats off to MadCatz for finally making decent fucking replacement controllers.

Before that you always had 2 choices : The overpriced name brand one or
The cheap shit thin piece of unholy plastic replacement controller by the mysterious brand X that gave new meaning to the terms "Made In China" or "Assesmbled In Taiwan"

Does anyone else rember that NES "joystick upgrade" that snapped over the controller and gave you those gay larger buttons and that useless fucking Mini Joystick thing that hurt your thumb after about 2 minutes and fell off anyway so the cat could fucking eat it??
Or How about that stupid little black thing you plugged your SNES controller into so you could program moves for Street Fighter and such and it never worked properly (especially with charging moves) and the computer kicked your ass worse than if you had never used it at all!!! I remember that goddamn thing!!! IT SAID IT HAD PRE PROGRAMED MOVES BUT ALL THE MOVES IT HAD PREPROGRAMMED WERE FUCKING GAY!! REMEMBER THAT????
WELL I DO!!! FUCK YOU ALL YOU CHEAP SHIT MOTHER OF SATAN GODDAMN REJECT REPLACEMENT CONTROLLERS!!!

Brand name controllers have always been pricey because they were always the best thing available. Anyone that bought any third-party controller (aside from a few exceptions which I can't remember right now) for any reason was a dumbass.

Now, yes, MadCatz is doing pretty well..but as soon as they release a shitty controller, I don't think I'll be able to trust them again.

The keyboard/mouse combo is without a doubt the best for FPS. I still don't mind using a controller when I'm playing a console FPS. Some games you can get damn good with just the controller. I'm used to the keyboard/mouse for those types though and when it comes down to it, you can react alot faster.
