Someone on another board suggested that Bill Murray should wear a Garfield costume where his face can be seen through the mouth. I'd pay to see that.

This is old news you old los... ER :lol
Bill Murray will take over Lorenzo Music's (Is that his name?) role as the voice of garfield. Lorenzo Music took over Bill Murray's role as the voice in the Ghostbusters cartoon.
All full circle and shit.
The casting is so fucking wrong. A friend of mine jokingly suggested Ben Affleck as Jon, and I realized it acutually would be better than Brekin Meyer. Janeane Garofalo should play the vet.

This just seems like the crappiest idea ever. Maybe if it was animated like Shrek (I guess "computer animated", but isn't everything animated by computers nowadays?) it would actually be cool. But live-action? It's going to look like shit, especially if there's a lot of emphasis on Garfield and Odie. They might as well just make Bill Murray wear a plastic Garfield mask with eyes cut out of it and a rubber band around the back. And he'll wear a suit and tie. And the vet scene will be priceless. :(
On second thought, the crappier they make it, the better it will be.

I would agree that there's not many things you can't make a movie of. But Garfield is one of them.
This is going to be so terrible. You just KNOW they'll have dusted off some Hollywood script formula to fill up the full length of the movie, which means that Jon will be doing romantically clumsy shit for 2 1/2 hours until finally Garfield picks up on the fact that he likes the vet, and conspires with either Jon or Odie to bring the two together for the last half hour. SHIT. UTTER SHIT. GODDAMMIT EVEN IN MY IMAGINATION I JUST WANT TO SAW OFF ROGER EBERT'S THUMBS.

They should just take the script from Easy Money, except have Bill dressed like that instead of a clown for the heist. The rest of the movie could be the same. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Holy shit, the director did Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey!
Someone should start an online petition to make the studio cast Bill Murray as Garfield. No voice acting, real-life Bill Murray.

You mean Quick Change? or is that some crazy foreign title?
The only good part of that movie is the bank robery itself that takes place in the begining :(

It's a good thing Garfield already really really sucked, otherwise this would be sad.

Why doesn't Hollywood just give up now so they can maintain their dignity? You know, by producing more direct-to-video sequel shit and still acting like they're the movie capital of the world?

Why did I say Easy Money? :( Yeah, Quick Change.
Maybe they could make Garfield vs. Beethoven for Christmas :(
It'll be "out of this world"!
Soundtrack by Coolio.

He plays a character named "Louis" (the voice), so maybe it is a CG character.

No, because Bill Watterson will never sell out. That's why there's no official Calvin and Hobbes merchandise, and never will be.

I wash my hands of this shit... A live action movie based off of garfield sounds about as apealing to me as having my stomach pumped...
On another hand, When are they gonna come out with a Bloom County Animated movie? (never of course) now that is something i wanna see.. Providing Berke oversees it.

There already is one, it's called A Wish for Wings That Work. Or maybe that was just a thirty-minute Christmas special. Anyway, it's unavailable, and Breathed isn't really all that keen on rereleasing Bloom County stuff.

Is the sticker of calvin peeing thats always on the back of trucks unofficial?
Also, this movie might pass as decent if Joel Cohen is writing...I have much faith in that man.

I just read that the plot is as follows: Odie is kindapped, and Garfield has to rescue him. Also, vet romance.
In other words: Same plot as the NES game + J-Love.

This movie is one of the worst ones probably coming out next year. Well, this and the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The game basically says 'OMG ODIES GONE FIND HIM GARFIELD' the second you put it in.
I try to keep an open mind and refrain from bashing a movie I've never seen, but this one is going to be terrible.

You bet your ass it is. Those are "bootleg" stickers, NOT endorsed by Bill Watterson in any way. He receives no money from them.
There is NO Calvin and Hobbes merchandise. NONE whatsoever. I have an awful lot of respect for the man for sticking to his guns.
