In my ending, we see Jason come out of Crystal Lake carrying Freddy's head. The crowd cheers and such--but then it closes in on Freddy's head and he winks.

Anyway, my thoughts...

Holy shit it kicked ass. I was expecting it to be good, but it was so much better than just that. Freddy and Jason both kicked lots of ass and so I don't think either fanbase could really bitch. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of screen time the idiot teens (with one exception ) got. Especially near the end when bitch girl makes her voice go deeper and rhaspy to show her "angry tone". Get some more acting lessons, sweetheart, this isn't dawson's creek (...if you spot that reference, don't point it out).

Few things:

-Hypnosil is still an experimental drug? Isn't that the same thing from the dream warriors? Ah well, a reference is a reference.

Sorry, but the best death was when Jason killed the dirty rapist raver. HAHAHAH! They made the dirty raver a raper! PLUR 4 EVA.
Anyway. Not to disappoint, the movie was chock full of canned dialog and gratuitous nudity. It opened on a good note (TITS) and ended with some cheese. Tits and cheese.

Just got back from seeing it, and indeed, it met my expectations. It was pulled off very nicely. But in complete parallel to what Protoclown said, when I saw that pothead with the long hair pop up, I almost expected him to have a silent sidekick. Maybe Jason counts. *Cue ominous noise*

The ending was pretty tame, but it was the best way they could've handled it without fanboys from either side bitching endlessly. As badly as I wanted to see Jason win, it was still cool that there was no clear winner in the end.

My one big gripe is that in the 10 years since Freddy's 'death' and return, he seems to have been studying in the Jackie Chan school of Karate. He'd dodge EVERY single one of Jason's swings and give him like 5,000 quick kicks (though the crunch and the pained look on Freddy's face after attempting a groin kick on Jason was hilarious). It was pretty god damn funny to see Freddy throw everything and the fucking boiler at Jason and get pissed off because he wouldn't die.

Freddy's pretty fast and and jason's slow. The dodging and ninja speed stuff wasn't any more far fetched than anything else in the movie.

To touch on the ending thing again, I like it a bit more now that I think about it. Jason was pretty much the underdog (get it? Dog? Ha!) in the movie and was shown as he's supposed to be (retard immortal zombie guy out for revenge for his dead mama and lesser evil in a sense) and so I'm sure a lot of people were happy to see him come out of the water with freddy's head. At the same time, freddy's the REAL bad guy outta the two and is just as hard, if not harder to kill so his not being dead and getting ready to trick jason again seemed right.

I don't still don't know why jason has as many fans as he does. I'm a fan, but I definitely didn't root for him :/ . He's just not as cool as freddy.

A lot of people like Jason because it seems like he isn't so much of a mindless killer as he is a punisher, I guess. I don't think that.

I just liked how dumb he was.

I thought the best scene in the movie was the whole "Water Bad" bit.

I found myself rooting for Jason not because of the 'cool' factor, but because of the outright scariness of the character.

Yea, Freddy kicks ass, and the kills he racks up are damn funny. You gotta respect a guy that kills a kid through the use of a dreamland Power Glove.

But Jason has more of the ominous, straightforward killing style. Jason always seemed more threatening to me than Freddy. He always came across more as just plain fucking unstoppable, ya know?

I wanted one to live and one to die and be done with. I thought one would die and then have to face another horror figure (ash, pumpkin head, ect.) and they would just call it Freddy Vs. Jason 2 so they wouldnt spoil the ending until after the movie ran its course and then call it Jason Vs. Ash or something, this would become a horror movie tournament! But yet Freddy HAD survive. >: This is like Godzilla Vs. King Kong all over again.

The only other thing that bothered me was the part where Jason was afraid of the water.

Ummm...he "lives" in a goddamn lake and seems to have no problem coming in and out of that, nor did he seem the least bit concerned when he was walking around in the rain for the first good chunk of the movie. It annoys me when movies don't even follow their own rules...but in horror movies you come to expect that. So I wasn't that upset by it, it didn't ruin the movie for me, I was just like "what the fuck?".

Freddy using a pelvic thrust to chuck Jason into the wall or whatever was hilarious. He looked like a Backstreet Boy.

I wanted Freddy to die. He scared me more as a kid then Jason for some reason.

Bah! Freddy is the only one who could take on Jason and vice versa. Micheal Myers could also do some damage but I still don't think he could beat either of em (well, maybe jason since they're basically the same, only mm's smart). Leatherface has absolutely no powers and wouldn't get up from his wounds, so a movie with him vs one of the other horror icons would last maybe 20 seconds.

Skull: Yeah, he's got the whole silence thing down, but to me, a severely burned guy who can do damn near anything to me (including killing loved ones in front of me) while distorting reality is scarier than someone who would probably kill me with one swing of whatever he's carrying.

Well, call me crazy here, but am I the only one who doesn't think any of the other horror icons could really mix with freddy and jason? I mean, it would be fucking odd to see someone like the tall man or pinhead or leatherface in there. The more I think about micheal myers, the more fitting it seems, but him vs jason would be boring as hell cause it'd basically be 2 guys stabbing each other for 2 hours (yes yes, fun for all) and him vs freddy would be the same as fvj. Plus Micheal Myers wouldn't give a fuck about either of em unless they turned out to be family members or something :/

But that's just the thing. No, no one else COULD stand up to them, and a whole movie with FvAnyone else would suck. Same goes for JvAnyone else. I just was expecting someone to come out at the last minute while they were both beaten so bad that the other person could take them out.

An example would be on the dock. I could see someone coming from out of nowhere and finishing the job while the two had each other's weapons lodged in them.

Seems like Freddy vs. Pinhead would be good. After all, they're both demons, Freddy using dreams and Pinhead using pain. It could work.

On the flipside, Freddy vs. the Djinn (from the Wishmaster). Although the djinn might have the power to stop Freddy, I just would see THIS as a fucking horrible movie.

aw it last night becasue of the damn power outage, fucking loved just about every second of it. Wanted jason to win outright, mostly for the underdog factor plus freedy is a cocky bitch and everyone likes to see them lose. Also Proto on the water thing, I think it could possibly work out that jason does fear the water, but only deep down in his head, where freddy was. In the real world, he fears nothing.

Anyway, while freddy didn't kill many people, he certainly got his share of the action. He nearly killed jason, messed him up as much, if not more than jason messed him up, fucked with the kids every chance he got, and possessed someone after a cool little alice in wonderland reference.

I'll give this a full review at some point on the I-Mockery movie reviews site, but anyway... I loved the movie. It was filled with bad acting cheese, and a shitload of blood spurts... basically everything a fan of the original 80's Freddy 'n Jason flicks could hope for.

As for Freddy and Jason battling... those were definitely the best parts of the movie, but I have to say... I think it was all about Freddy. I mean really, he pretty much beat the living piss out of Jason throughout the movie. Very one-sided. Jason definitely had more fun killing humans, but Freddy was totally kicking Jason's ass all over the place(I loved how he gouged out his eyes towards the end there too). He was like a fucking ninja in parts too. o.O

And for those of you who are wondering, yes there will be a sequel. Tom Green asked Robert Englund in an interview recently who was going to win and Robert wouldn't tell him. But he whispered into Tom's ear and said "There's gonna be a sequel" and Tom's mic barely picked it up so the audience could hear it :)

I gotta go see this again soon.

I'd have to say my two favorite bits of the movie were when Freddy battles Jason for the first time inside Jason's dream (right after they stabbed him with the tranquilizers, but before Freddy found out about Jason's water phobia), where Freddy actually flips out over not being able to kill Jason, and when Freddy's in the girl's nightmare, about to kill her, when suddenly, a big hole appears in her chest. Flash to the real world, and Jason's already done the dirty work.

The very first (real) kill, where Freddy bends the asshole dude in the bed in half was IMO the best kill in the movie. Although there was a certain sense of satisfaction when Jason cut the Jay wannabe in half.

the fact they brought jasons mother back was cool too (he seemed to forget about her after part 4 i think).

however jason got lost in the woods after drowning by the fucking shore is anyones guess (alright so it was a dream sequence)

when they killled jason and freddy they were bit nieve to think they killed them, they didnt even chain jason to the bottom of the lake or exorise freddy soul (or get him to look into a mirror, now that was retarded), the fact that they were still instantly alive was good, i hope the team up for the sequel....
