I went to see Radiohead last night and it was the most horrible concert experience I have ever had. >:

More details later. :(

I'm writing a Visionary Darkness piece about it, which will either appear on the site or I will post it here.

On the plus side, the band was great. :)

Radiohead blows.

Thanks for your insignificant little opinion! :)

I don't think they blow, but I think they are probably the most overrated band on the planet right now.....

It was good to hear it was just the venue, or else I would've felt wasted getting tickets to see them. :(

I'm glad to hear it was the venue too. I'd still love to see Radiohead, although I don't know I'd want to hear the HTTT songs that badly.

I'll second that motion.

Proto, does it have anything to do with some drunk fucktard throwing up on your shoes?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: New age just really doesn't appeal to me.

THANK YOU

Radiohead has had their share of good songs (Street Spirit was my favorite of theirs) but I definitely don't think they deserve the absurd amounts of praise that they get.

Anyway, can't wait to read your rant about the venue Proto... I've been to my fair share of shitholes that made some of my favorite bands not nearly as enjoyable as they normally would've been.

I'm still working on it, trying to make it a more interesting read.

Basically the whole day was shitty up and down. I drove 10 hours to see Radiohead play for 40 minutes.

I love Radiohead. Then again, I don't really rate them against anyone or compare them to anything. And there's no such thing as being "overrated" because opinions are objective. Hence, a 1,000 opinions are merely 1,000 objective facts.

Also, I've downloaded a few of their live songs and I wasn't impressed. Thom admits to doing most of the albums on a PC... The only songs that might come out alright in a live setting would be from Pablo Honey. THAT'S A FACT!

I dont get the big fuss people make of them. They are a little to whiney(sp?) for me or at least from what i have heard anyway. At least he doesn't sound as whiney as Chino from the deftones.

I think OK Computer is one of the best albums ever, and although I like all of their albums, I do think they are overrated. And McClain is right, as usual.

Radiohead blows.

Guess Radiohead doesn't have enough indecipherable screaming to fit your taste, eh?

They're not whiney, shithead

I bought their live cd, it sucked. I admit it. I loved "True Love Waits" though.

I'm starting to like Radiohead less and less now. OK Computer doesn't really blow me away anymore. I still <3 The Bends and Kid A

I'm seeing them October 10th. I got really shitty seats. Can't wait to read that VD, proto :o

Radiohead is good, but they are DEFINITELY overrated.

What did they play? Stuff from HTTT or old stuff?

and that my friend is why they really suck. You can work so much majic with a PC or in a studio, but you actually have to have some T-A-L-E-N-T to be a good live band.

good thing he spelled out talent in all caps and hyphens between all the letters, so we could make sure we know how it's spelled.

And Bobo Adobo is MY name, chump! >:

There are few people who can whine like Chino, although Radiohead comes damn close. I guess I just don't get them. Radiohead, I mean.

i meant to reply to this before, but i never got around to it.

i was also at this show.. well.. i was at half of the show.. because of traffic, it took me over 5 hours to get there and i missed half the show. merriweather has to be one of the worst venues i've ever been to. security was also way over-done.. i asked the guy patting me down for a cavity search, but he didn't seem too interested. the sound there was horrible.. and i was 7th row.. i heard from friends that the lawn is horrible for seeing the band.
the parking situation was horrible. they didn't even have real bathrooms. worthless.

i was at the show in montreal 5 days earlier and it was a _MUCH_ better experience, despite all the french people that decided they wanted to talk the entire show.

merriweather was definitely the worst of all the radiohead shows i've seen. not my worst concert experience ever, but it's definitely one of the worst.

I saw radiohead last sunday and it was great. For a live band i will admit they aren't the best. they aren't anywhere near where they should be for being such a huge band and all. however, the electronic songs worked quite well live. They figured out some clever little segways and shit and it works. Great light show too. As expected they double encored and played most of their greatest hits. no suprises was worth the ticket alone.
