was in the cab of a high speed train the other day and it was almost as cool as:

the time i got to assist in refuling f-18's while inflight (this is cool cause you are tilted at a 45 degree angle toward a pane of glass so that you can see to extend the refueling basket, it is like falling out of the sky with out all the hitting the ground.

the other day when nancy andi narrowly avoided hitting a deer that ran in front of our car, the deer ran into opposing traffic, and from arms length i saw it get murdelized by and SUV that then flipped over on its side (yee haw)

so i am in the cab of the train, we are doing 125 miles an hour and bouncing around like we are taking a four wheel drie something or other on an especially bad road. cool.

There's a GE plant here in Erie that there's a good chance they were built in. My dad works there and he's a freak about trains.

the train i was the Acela, the high speed train for Amtrak, the one he was driving when he hit the girl was a big diesel one.

That's interesting. In health class we learned that most girls who commit suicide like to do so in a way that would keep their bodies intact, because they want people to see them laid out at their funeral. So that usually eliminates gunshots to the head, jumping off high places, and trains. :)

I once heard a fact that in the New York Metro area, a train conductor will hit 1.7 people during his or her career, and that there is a support group for people who have killed with trains.
