Over ten years ago here in Toronto I could walk to a local Chinese video store and buy a stamp pad that allowed me to rent 50 movies for $100 and I must have done that 4 times seeing a shit load of movies and I really fell in love with Hong Kong movies. I feel somewhat sad that there industry is doing poorly and I would like to find all the great movies and post pictures and hopefully some of you can find them and someday experience some great films. I have a small collection of VCD,s (poor quality) and slowly they are starting to make DVD's.

Some of the movies I have collected

i just downloaded "a true mob story"... i've probably seen it before and don't recall but i've heard it's a classic gangster flick... i've seen many more hk flims than this but don't recall their names... CFMT Super Cinema Night was the highlight of my week! i miss TO :tear

Yep I will go there (Pacific Mall) this weekend. "God of cookery" was very funny (ugly chick starts singing LOL). I will try and get two movies that I really like and post them. I watched a movie called "Hero" last night, I would say one of the most beautiful "looking" movies but the story was sloooow but some great kung fu.

Im also a fan of HK films. Steven Chow is one of my favorites, and their martial arts films and comedies are wacky and fun.

Im also liking a lot of the Japanese movies as of late. Battel Royale was something i just bought and it was amazingly cool.

A good fun HK movie is Bio-Zombie, comedic horror movie.

...and they um rent hk movies?

a true mob story was decent. a good blend of violence and tragedy and some nice shots of kowloon - even the "golden mile" by the chungking mansions :love . i made a thread about a japanese movie awhile back called "Cure"/Kyua... not a hk flick but definitely worth checking out... fucking genius...

now i'm dl'ing Born to Be King (another classic hk gangster flick) and "Pulse"/Kairo - japanese film by the same dir of Cure. :love bit torrent

Here's some movies I picked up at a better place than Pacific mall. 6 movies for $30 but I had to pay 2 bucks more for a japanese animation for my daughters. The animation is very much like Spirited away in detail but the story is a typical girl likes boy film. Two old Chow yun fat movies and for me Chinese ghost story 1 and 3 . I have 2 on VCD and will get the DVD later. The Ghost story movies are really great and would recommend them to anyone that likes kung foo and b horror.http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid79/p193e277292b5958584f5a13ea350376d/fb1960a4.jpg.orig.jpg
