Me and my friend were having an argument about what band has the most hardcore, intense, obsessive fans. I'd say it's KISS, he says the Beatles, what do you all think? Don't limit responses to KISS and Beatles, though I doubt I have to tell you this.

I'd say the Grateful Dead because their fans stalked them from concert to concert. It isn't the Beatles, because everyone (well, anyone that isn't a retard) likes the Beatles. And it isn't Kiss, because, well, they have no fans.

How could you ever think it was any other band than the Greatful Dead? They have fans from the 60's that still follow them around and rock out. People made entire lifestyles devoted to this band. Deadheads are the pinnacle of the hardcore fan.

Definitely the deadheads. I saw this disturbing documentary film called Tie Dye based on the Grateful Dead followers. On the day, Jerry Garcia had died and ended the reign of the Grateful Dead, their fans realized they had no place to go and their journey of stalking the band was over. They took an excessive amount of lsd and spun themselves for hours to their death. Some insane shit.

Slayer has hardcore fans, nowhere near the deadheads, but of a lot of the metal bands if seen in concert, slayer fans are the msot intensely loyal to the band.

Pearl Jam fans are pretty intense.Its actually more like the other way around. Pearl Jam is pretty intense about their fans. Constantly screwing over ticketmaster so that their fans can get a fairly priced show. In fact, recently they did 2 concerts entirely for free here last winter. And that was just in addition to their normal show that they did only a week earlier.
Now, I really don't like Pearl Jam that much, but I do know they are the most obsessed with pleasing their fans than any other artist alive today.

In my experience, Dave Matthews Band fans are pretty rabid, too. They give you that whole "What the hell is wrong with you?" trip and tell you that you need to buy at least like 3 of his albums to "understand" it. And I hate how they refer to the band as "Dave." Grr.
