World 8 was the easiest part of the game O .o

No way. Most of the stuff was plenty doable, but I always lose a lot of lives on the super-fast ship and several of the levels in the shadowed-over world. The rest was pennywhistles and moonpies, as long as you'd figured out which way to go in the mini-castle and Bowser's castle. But still. I love the music on the Bowser fight and the ending screens.

The first time my brother reached level 8 and paused it for dinner, my sister accidentally hit the reset button. This was around the time when he was roughly (not nearly; roughly) entering puberty and he ruled the house with a reign of terror. My sister was so scared she asked me to take the blame, and he spat on me. Oh well. I expected worse.

I played halfway through Paper Mario and didn't see them ONCE >:

I remember one time, me and my brother were taking turns playing through SMB3 (No whistles. Level by level). It wasn't so much that it was hard, but there was no way to save or anything, so you had to do it in one sitting. And some of the levels can be hard, and more can be harder when you're little.

Anyway, we were going to go out shopping with our mom, and I figured that meant to turn the game off. On World 8.

So I'm holding the power button in, while my brother's screaming at me not to turn it off. So he plays, while I hold the power button in. Letting go would turn the game off.

Finally, we put some tape over the button, and went out. We came back later, and lost to Bowser. :(

i tried beating it that way a month ago but i didn't have enough lives and items after only to levels, so i gave up forever... :(

I always swam under the boats. Also fucking cheap, but it worked! ;)

I never did make it through the world 8 fortress, though. I have yet to finish the game...maybe I can find a copy around here somewhere to give it another try...

It's all about preparation. You gotta save up leaves and fire flowers for world 8, and make the most of the stages where you can collect 10,000+ coins. It's not hard to maintain a standard of 50 lives through most of the game.

Hell, it's no problem to get 99 lives on the second level. SMB3's challenge lies in its size.

er, I meant to say without dying at least once. I always save a P-wing for it, and I may have beaten it without one once or twice. But not without dying lots.

oh ok, then yea I've lost lives doing that level, but I remember I beat it once without losing one life. I was lucky that I did.
