What do you want from leaders?

Seeing as to how this is a republic, I want to know what people want from their leaders.

A little of both. Government needs to guard against the "tyranny of the majority", but on the other hand, you could say that Stalin, Castro, Hitler, Hussein, Arafat, and Bush "follow(ed) their convictions" too.

Maybe the options should be changed to:

A. Follow the will of the people, because they are the ones who elected you

B. Do want you want, and what you think is best, because you clearly know better than all of those uneducated retards
