You are holding a Dr. Mario tournament and unlike those dorks and their XSMUCKS360's (Sam) you will not need anything but a computer and a good attitude.

Dr. Mario was a very serious and controversial game for it's time. The basic story was that Mario is coming and he's got the cure. That's basically it. I have a soft spot for this game since I was sick alot as a child and the idea that Mario had the cure made me feel better. I passed away at the age of 8 and still am.

This young man uses a style called The Marilyn Monroe to use the pills to his advantage.

The rules of the game

1. You need the internet to play the game with people outside of your area. You guys do have internet, right? It would be nice if you have a microphone so you can trash talk your opponent but it's not required. Dr. Mario can take a long time.

2. Anyone can play, but me.

3. No cheating! That's all!



There is no set date but I think you will be flexible and not force it all on one day. I'm a nice guy and sometimes you people forget that or take advantage of it, and did. I'm not big on prizes so there isn't one right now. Maybe you can donate to your church or temple, would you like that?

Is there any NES emulator that records videos and supports Netplay. It would be a fun idea if we can record the games and then add any audio commentary. Then I can host them onto my Youtube account for all America to see. I'm no good with technology so I leave this to you guys to see if it's plausible.

Edit: 8 will be the magic number but I will allow fill-in's to put their name in the hat in case someone backs out. And if we can get 8 of those then we can have a super tournament (but since there is only 20 adults total on this board, I hazard not)

Good News, Bad News

My mystery opponent is semi-confirming his intrest in it but wont be available for a little while. I want to get over my cold and figure out the technical aspects. I didn't expect to get eight people so fast!

I will make a list of opponents by the end of the week. If no one else signs up and Mr. A continues to have too many problems running a netplay game then I will give Noob3 his slot and run with the 8. If we can get 7 more people by the end of the week we will go with 16 and I'll let that cunt Rankeri take Mr. A's spot if problems persist. I think Mr. A will do some funny play by play for those who do not have mics so all will not be lost.


I'll keep you guys posted. Post in here suggestions for video recording or audio situations if you are doing the audio. I can't help too much other then audio aspects. Thank you for your interest, your call is important to me.

Understandable, that's why I am leaving the schedual up to you guys to work it out with whoever your opponent is. That's why I wanted to do the videos and the commentary so people outside can still be entertained without trying to get 8 or 16 people online at the same time (especially if one is a tool from Finland).

Glad you guys are interested. I say we need 4 more people (Mr. Adventure is near impossible to get ahold of and his computer sucks ridiculously) before I start picking out matches. It won't be completely random though as I want to make at the very least the first round to be friendly to people's schedules. I would like to get things rolling by Sunday and Round 1 to be done by the Sunday after so hop to it.

I'll be willing to lift the Under 18 ban for certain people but not all. If I have called you a creep before then that's a good indication of people I won't lift it for.
