I CAN'T WAIT :)

I'd better go ahead and make the Saw V thread before someone else does!

Seriously though 3 was so horrible I didn't even watch all of it and I'm not usually one to do that. Every additional sequel just makes the first one look that much worse by association.

when the hell is this happening?

Wow i've never seen a Saw and never heard anyone talk about them in real life. They must draw money somewhere though.

I hear about them way too fucking much. The first one was alright but they get progressively worse with each new one. Like emu said, the last one was unbearable. It's fucking terrible what passes for horror lately.

I didn't think the first was good so I didn't watch the rest. I kinda wanted to see the second, but ended up renting Blade: Trinity instead. I think it was the better choice.

I don't know about that. Blade trinity is also a cinematic abortion.

I really liked Saw and Saw II, never saw (not pun intended) the third one. I really liked the first two, but I guess I'm sort of alone in my thinking.

I always bitch about this, but I've never seen any of the Saw movies so I just wikipedia'd the plots to see what I knew I wasn't missing. I just don't see the appeal of artificial snuff. Why doing they even bother trying to dress it up with an ostensibly brilliant mastermind? From what I gathered, Jigsaw as a character is lame, retarded, and trite. Same goes for Hannibal Lecter. I know from experience that people do insane things only because they're insane. They can either realize this and either concede themselves as victims or they can try to ameliorate it. If you have an insane IQ and can't do either of these, you're a tool.

If you want an accurate portrayal of intelligent killers, read Crime and Punishment or the Leopold and Loeb files. Nietzsche is good for fucking you up like that.

I know it probably won't work for everyone because everyone has different mental chemistry, but if you're into this shit try taking Effexor and Geodon at the same time, then go have conversations with anyone. Doing that gave me a lifetime fix of gore porn, all in the comfort of my mental theater.

Don't put Hannibal Lecter and Jigsaw in the same category :(

Well if the mish-mash of asinine crap they arbitrarily cobbled together in the first three is anything to go by, I doubt they'll have much difficulty thinking up some stupid, unbelievable method whereby he, or someone immediately linked with him can continue killing.

lol i just saw (pun intended) a trailer and it made me laugh. Apparently rhe guy swallows a tape and in the autopsy and the coroner finds it and gives it to a detective, and for some reason the guy knew that the detective who was going to get was his next victim or whatever.

MetalMilitia is right. Chances are Jigsaw is really Brian O'Blivion in disguise and has a library of tapes that he's going to live on through to keep making Rube Goldberg O' Death Devices for. The only downside is wondering he would swallow a tape: wouldn't your stomach acid eat through it? And exactly what would happen if it did? Be an uneventful movie:

CORONER: Look, a cassette tape!

DETECTIVE: Let's play it.

CORONER: I'm afraid we can't. You see, despite the obvious damage to the tape, we no longer have cassette players. So even if it wasn't destroyed, we still couldn't play it because apparently Jigsaw's highly moralistic faux-vengeance spree means his dumb ass can't see past 1989, technology wise.

DETECTIVE: Well, I'll go get a burrito then.

THE END.

I do too, but the third was pretty bad compared to the first two. Best kill had to be Obi when he got caught in the boiler and burned to death. Those screams were fucking great I have to say.

My girlfriend dragged me to see it last night. >:
Spoilers below:

I'm sure none of you need this explained, but this movie is VERY FUCKING CONTRIVED. Basically, a detective who was at best a minor character in the third movie or at worst created for this movie (I only saw (lol) the third movie once, so can't remember) has OMG BEEN HELPING JIGSAW AND AMANDA ALL ALONG :eek AND HE'S GUNNA BE THA NEW JIGSAW YO!!!! :eek

Non-spoiler review crap:
The movie gets really confusing really quickly, mostly because of an over-abundance in middle-aged white male characters with dark, wavy hair. You get them confused all over the place. Besides that, the pacing of the movie is all fucked up and it's over before you have any real grasp of what's going on. Seriously, only see it if you're a die hard fan of the series, and if you are die hard fan of the series then please kill yourself.

Personal Rant Crap
So I sat through this piece of shit movie for the sole reason that my girlfriend wanted to see it and I'm a good boyfriend who lets her pick the movie a lot of the time. I subsequently took it upon myself to pay for dinner (something I consider a huge favor because her parents who gave her a credit card are FUCKING LOADED and my family is... not). We get back to my on-campus appartment and she still has the gall to refuse me sex or FOR THAT MATTER ANY REASONABLE FACSIMILE THEREOF, opting instead to study and sleep never mind the fact that Saturday was the only full day this month we would have together SO FUCK IT WAS A PRETTY AWFUL DAY >:
