Well, Halloween is almost here. What are everyone's plans? Are you going to dress up?
We're having a nice little halloween bash here. Complete with gore and candy. First we'll hand out the candy to all of the little wee mites and then turn the party up. I think mostly everyone coming here is dressing up. We'll probably have the tables spinning circles and have everyone get pretty far out. And lots of great fun-time tunes. Can't forget those. Then, there will probably be someone who wants to go Cemetary surfing. I can't much get into the swing of that, but if they like it, sure.
But, enough of that. What are YOU doing this year? :P

I never do anything for Halloween anymore beyond try and carve an awesome jack-o-lantern, which I am discouraged about because of my failure at a Dr. McNinja pumpkin last year.
I'll probably just stay home and play scary videogames.

I have to cover and take photos of an incredibly lame poetry reading.

We're all pretty much set on going to the West Hollywood Costume Carnival again... it was just too much fun last year. Sooooo many people there and some of the best costumes you'll ever see.
As for what I'll be wearing, I'm still waiting for my big platform boots to arrive, but I'm going as a giant Freddy Krueger this year. I had a shitty Freddy costume when I was a kid once and this one totally makes up for it.
Anyway, here are my photos of the costume carnival from last year:

When you said platform boots, I was hoping for a Rubin Farr costume :(

Heh, it's West Hollywood, Crispin is likely to show up in those boots himself and I wouldn't wanna upstage him.

Awesome! I've gotta see these boots.
Everyone, you should at least go out to a haunted house or something. There's this really cool haunted Furnace that they open every year here. It's called Sloss Furnace. Sounds pretty freaky, huh? They have a freak show and a 3-D maze as well as the haunted tour through the actual Furnace. It's supposed to be haunted by the owner. He used to work people to death there. One day he fell into the furnace itself. Pretty creepy. Now it's used for Halloween and some pretty cool shows. Like, last year, Ministry showed up.

The boots aren't much to see, they just make me extra tall. They're not like fancy boots that cover your whole legs like what members of KISS would be wearing or something.
As for Sloss Furnace, that actually sounds pretty damned cool. I've never heard of a "haunted furnace" Halloween attraction. Normally it's a haunted house or pumpkin patch or somethin. As for Ministry showing up, that could only make it better... especially if they played "Scarecrow" (and of course "Everyday is Halloween (http://www.i-mockery.com/blabber/2007/10/05/halloween-candy-week-plus-re-sings-everyday-is-halloween)").

Reading that made me think of trying to incorporate my visit to Dachau into the discussion, which makes me a bad person.

Hit the bars on Sukhumvit road as a beer swilling viking berserker. I may dress up, too.

Apparently some kind of pub crawl dressed as the biker from the village people, which is basically gay as hell.

I'm gonna buy a whole lot of candy and only eat some of it.
Then I'm gonna go to bed, but not before watching the Halloween That Almost Wasn't.

I'm having a big ritual with a bunch of Satanists at a mansion. We hired a masked slave to serve us drinks afterward.

The roommate and I decided that we are going to skip the costumes this year and instead watch some movies and get drunk the weekend of. I just don't have the heart this year.

Supafly reminded me of McSweeney's article on "Reinventing the Mojito".
Eskimojito
Fit adventuresome types in the 18-29 demo drive competing dogsleds: girls against guys. Girls are losing to the guys until girls open their thermoses and drink Eskimojitos. Girls take off parkas and underneath they wear bikinis, and furry boots. They pass under a banner that reads "Iditarod Finish"! Girls fall on the ground and make snow angels! Dogs romp. Guys smirk in annoyance but join in. Decrepit Inuits look on, shrugging at each other.
